LONGi at a glance

LONGi is one of the largest solar companies in the world and built its name on mono-crystalline silicon. Its recent strategy centres on back-contact (BC) cells: the electrical contacts move to the back of the cell, so no metal lines on the front block sunlight. That leaves more of the panel surface collecting light, which is why LONGi's BC panels reach high efficiency for their size.

LONGi sells its panels under the Hi-MO name, with a number or letter for each generation. Several generations are sold in Pakistan at the same time, which is the main source of confusion for buyers. The families you will hear about most:

• Hi-MO X10: back-contact (HPBC 2.0) panel aimed at rooftops and distributed systems, launched in late 2024.
• Hi-MO 9: back-contact (HPBC 2.0) bifacial panel aimed at larger ground and commercial arrays.
• Hi-MO 7: an earlier bifacial N-type generation, still widely sold.
• Hi-MO 6: an earlier back-contact rooftop generation, now out of stock.

LONGi Hi-MO X10 and Hi-MO 7: which to buy?

These are the two LONGi names Pakistani buyers search most. In short, Hi-MO X10 is a newer, larger back-contact panel that packs more watts into a given roof area, while Hi-MO 7 is a standard-size bifacial panel that is easier to handle and fit on common structures. LONGi 585 watt panels (out of stock)

Buyers often ask for a "LONGi 585". Every panel below 615 W, including LONGi's 580-585 W bins, is now out of stock. For new systems we quote Hi-MO 7 615 W, Hi-MO X10 or Hi-MO 9. See the 585 watt solar panel guide and the 580 watt guide for older systems.

What back-contact means for your roof

You do not need to understand cell physics to buy well, but three practical points follow from LONGi's back-contact design:

1. More watts per square metre. Higher efficiency matters most where the roof is small or broken up. On a large open factory roof, a cheaper-per-watt panel may serve you just as well.
2. Behaviour in partial shade. LONGi says its HPBC 2.0 panels lose less power when part of the panel is shaded. This helps on roofs with water tanks, parapets or nearby buildings, but good layout still matters more than any panel feature.
3. Clean front appearance. With no front busbars, the panels look uniform, which some homeowners prefer on a visible roof.

Buying genuine LONGi panels

LONGi has publicly warned that its name is misused to sell substandard panels in Pakistan, so checking matters. Before you pay:

• Ask for the full model code and the serial-number list with the quote.
• Check serials on LONGi's own Module Authenticity page, reached by typing longi.com yourself. Newer LONGi panels also carry a unique QR code on the nameplate.
• Confirm the model, power and grade shown match the label and your quotation.

Warranty route

LONGi panels carry the manufacturer's product and performance warranty on LONGi's own terms for that exact model. We do not quote warranty years here because they differ by model and market; the manufacturer's warranty per product is. Which systems LONGi panels suit

Two checks apply to every LONGi project:

It places all the electrical contacts on the back of the cell, so the front catches more light. LONGi uses it in Hi-MO X10 and Hi-MO 9. The benefit is more output from the same area.
