AIKO at a glance

AIKO is a large Chinese solar cell and module manufacturer. For years it was known mainly as a cell supplier to other module brands, and it has since built its own module business around back-contact technology. In Pakistan the brand is newer to buyers than LONGi or JinkoSolar, so it is less searched, but it now sits at the high-efficiency end of the panel market.

What makes AIKO different is that its whole module line-up is built on one cell design: ABC, short for all-back-contact. Most other mainstream panels use TOPCon cells, with thin metal lines across the front of each cell.

What ABC (all-back-contact) actually means

A normal solar cell collects current through metal fingers and busbars printed on its front face. Those lines block a small share of sunlight. In a back-contact cell, every electrical contact sits on the rear, so the whole front surface is free to catch light.

In practical terms for a buyer in Punjab, this has four effects:

1. Higher efficiency. More watts from each square metre of roof. This matters most when the roof is small or shaded in parts.
2. Clean, uniform look. No visible lines on the front. Many AIKO panels come in an all-black or near-black finish, which suits visible house roofs.
3. Shading behaviour. AIKO markets its ABC panels as losing less output when part of a panel is shaded, for example by a water tank or parapet. This depends on the exact model and how the strings are designed, so ask for the datasheet claim with your quote.
4. Higher price per watt. Back-contact cells are more complex to make, so AIKO usually costs more per watt than a mainstream TOPCon panel of the same wattage.

AIKO solar panel models and price in Pakistan

AIKO names its ranges by use. The two you will meet most often in Pakistan are Neostar and Comet. Exact wattages, sizes and frame options change with each product generation, so treat the ranges below as a guide and check the datasheet of the model in your quote.

Is AIKO worth the higher price per watt?

It depends on what limits your system. Use this simple test:

• If roof space limits you, AIKO can help. A higher-efficiency panel lets you fit more kilowatts on the same roof.
• If budget limits you and the roof is large and open, a mainstream N-type TOPCon panel usually gives more kilowatts for the same money.

Here is a labelled example of the arithmetic, using round illustrative numbers only. Suppose your roof fits 16 panels of a given physical size. If one panel of that size is rated 450 W and another of the same size is rated 480 W, the first gives 16 × 450 = 7,200 W and the second gives 16 × 480 = 7,680 W. That extra 480 W is what you are paying the premium for. Whether it is worth it depends on the price difference on the day, which is why we quote both options side by side when a roof is tight. This is a method, not a prediction of your output.

Which systems AIKO panels suit

How to make sure your AIKO panels are genuine

Because AIKO is less familiar in Pakistan, buyers sometimes worry about mislabelled stock. These checks protect you:

1. Get the exact model number on the quote, not just "AIKO 600 W". The model code tells you the series, generation and wattage.
2. Match the label to the datasheet. The rear label should show the same model, power, voltage and current figures as the datasheet for that model.
3. Ask for the serial-number list for your panels and the packing list from the importer.
4. Check the frame and junction box for damage, re-labelling or stickers over the original label.
5. Ask the supplier how authenticity can be confirmed with AIKO or its Pakistani distributor. We have not confirmed that AIKO offers a public online serial check.
6. Be wary of prices far below the market. They often mean grade-B, refurbished or mislabelled panels.

Warranty route

AIKO panels carry the manufacturer's own product and performance warranties. We do not quote warranty years on this page, because they vary by model. The manufacturer's warranty per product is, and claims run through the manufacturer's process via the importing distributor. Is AIKO better than Jinko or LONGi?

Not automatically. AIKO usually gives more watts per square metre, which helps on small roofs. On large open roofs, a mainstream N-type panel may give more kilowatts for the same budget. LONGi also offers back-contact panels.

Are AIKO panels bifacial?

Some are and some are not. Many residential Neostar models are mono-facial, while commercial and utility ranges include bifacial options. Check the datasheet for the model quoted.

Do AIKO panels work better in shade?

AIKO says its ABC panels lose less power under partial shade. The real benefit depends on the model and on how strings are laid out, so good design matters more than the panel alone.

Can I mix AIKO panels with my existing panels?

Do not mix different panel models in the same string, because the weaker panel limits the others. AIKO panels can be added on a separate string or inverter input if the inverter allows it. Our engineers check this before quoting.
