JA Solar at a glance
JA Solar is one of the world's largest solar cell and module makers. It is a familiar name on Pakistani rooftops, though it is searched less often than JinkoSolar or LONGi, so its panels are sometimes good value per watt for the same class of technology.
Its range is sold under the DeepBlue name, with a version number for each generation:
- DeepBlue 4.0 / 4.0 Pro: N-type TOPCon panels using JA Solar's Bycium+ cells, in standard and larger formats, many of them bifacial double-glass.
- DeepBlue 5.0: a newer N-type generation announced in early 2025, with higher ratings in a larger format.
- DeepBlue 3.0: an earlier generation, largely P-type PERC; you may still see it as older stock.
We supply JA Solar panels sourced through established Pakistani distributors. We are not a manufacturer-appointed dealer; we use JA Solar where it suits the project and budget.

JA Solar 580 watt N-type panel (out of stock)
The 580 W N-type was the JA Solar panel most buyers asked about. It is now out of stock, like every panel below 615 W. For new systems we quote DeepBlue 4.0 Pro 615 W and above. See the 580 watt guide and 585 watt guide for older systems.
Larger JA Solar panels
The larger DeepBlue formats carry more current and weigh more. They suit factory roofs and open ground, where fewer panels per kW saves structure and cabling. Read 600 to 750 watt solar panels before choosing one for a house roof.
How to read a JA Solar model code
JA Solar labels carry a code such as JAM72D40-580/MB. As a general guide:
| Part of code | What it usually tells you |
|---|---|
| JAM | JA Solar module |
| 72 (or 54, 66) | Format, linked to the number of cells; 72 is the common full-size rooftop format |
| D40 / D42 | Series and generation; a "D" code is typically a double-glass (bifacial) design |
| 580 | Rated power in watts |
| MB / LB (suffix) | Frame and power-bin variant |
The practical lesson is the same as for any brand: two "JA 620 W" quotes may be different products. Put the full code on the quotation and check it against the panel label and the datasheet.
Buying genuine JA Solar panels
JA Solar runs an official Module Authenticity check on its product website. You enter the product barcode from the panel and an on-screen code, and a match shows the module details including its grade. If nothing is found, the page directs you to JA Solar's service contact. Use only the site you reach by typing the address yourself, not a link from a seller.
Our guide on how to check genuine solar panels explains the JA Solar check step by step, plus red flags such as mismatched labels, re-sealed junction boxes and prices far below the market rate.
Warranty route
JA Solar panels carry the manufacturer's own product and performance warranty, on the manufacturer's terms for that exact model. We do not quote warranty years here; the manufacturer's warranty per product is. On systems we install, Solar Works Pakistan is your first contact for any fault: we target sending service personnel within 48 hours of a registered complaint to begin diagnosis, and we take any manufacturer claim forward with you.
Which systems JA Solar panels suit
| Your project | JA Solar option | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Home system, 6-15 kW, standard structure | DeepBlue 4.0 Pro, 615 W and above | Standard size, easy to handle and source |
| Home or school on an elevated structure | DeepBlue 4.0 bifacial double-glass | Extra yield from reflected light when raised over a light surface |
| Factory shed or ground-mounted array | DeepBlue 4.0 Pro or 5.0 larger format | Fewer panels and connections per kW |
| Adding panels to an existing JA string | Same model or closest match | Keep each string to one model |
Two checks apply to every project. First, the panel's voltage and current must suit the inverter's input limits; see solar inverter price in Pakistan. Second, bifacial panels only earn their extra cost with enough height and a light surface below; see L2, L3 and elevated structures.
JA Solar vs other brands
JA Solar, JinkoSolar, Canadian Solar and LONGi all make strong N-type panels. The day-to-day difference is mostly stock, exact model and price per watt. For the technology, read N-type vs P-type and bifacial panels; for a fair comparison, read best solar panels in Pakistan.
