Our Lahore office

Our history

Solar Works Pakistan was founded in 2021. Its engineering roots go back to the 1980s through our founder, Akram Ullah Khan, whose career in power generation included WAPDA and Saudi Electricity Company. The company is led today by CEO Waleed Ikram Khan.

From 2014 to 2021 the company operated as Osama Traders in Karachi, importing gasoline generators and working as a wholesale distributor. In 2021 it became Solar Works Pakistan, a solar EPC, engineering and trading company headquartered in Faisalabad, with a branch in Lahore. Today we serve customers across Punjab.

Hybrid solar systems and BESS in Lahore for factories, schools and shops

We design and install hybrid solar systems in Lahore and battery energy storage systems (BESS) for businesses that cannot stop when the grid does. Solar runs the site by day, the LiFePO₄ battery or BESS carries the evening and load-shedding, and the system can work alongside an existing generator.

  • Industrial solar in Lahore: factories, warehouses and workshops, including three-phase and high-load sites, sized from your load profile and LESCO bills.
  • Solar for schools in Lahore: daytime load matched to school hours, with battery backup for labs, offices and security.
  • Commercial solar in Lahore: shops, offices, hospitals and petrol pumps, installed around working hours.
  • BESS in Lahore: battery storage sized against peak demand and evening use, with commissioning records handed over.

Systems run from about 6 kW to megawatt scale. See hybrid solar systems and battery storage and BESS, or send your last 12 months of bills for a site survey.

Solar system price in Lahore

A panel price is only part of the cost. A complete solar system in Lahore includes the inverter, structure, DC and AC cables, protection devices, earthing and, for backup, a battery.

System sizeTypical use in LahoreOn-grid priceHybrid price (with lithium battery)
6 kW5-7 marla house, 1-2 inverter ACs by dayWhatsApp for today's rateWhatsApp for today's rate

These house sizes are rough guides. Your electricity bill says far more about the right size than your plot does. Our projects start at about 6 kW; if you had a 2 or 3 kW system in mind, send us your bill and we will tell you honestly what your load needs. See the solar system price guide, the inverter price and lithium battery price pages, or try the solar calculator.

LESCO, net billing and AMI meters

LESCO is the distribution company (DISCO) for Lahore, Kasur, Okara and Sheikhupura. In mid-2026 it had the most net metering capacity of any DISCO, about 2,053 MW across 135,837 connections. The rules it applies come from NEPRA. In short, from our net metering and net billing guide:

  • Net metering closed to new applicants on 9 February 2026. New solar connections come under net billing. Imports are billed at your normal tariff; exports are credited at the national average energy purchase price, reported at about Rs 10-11 per unit when the rules were notified.
  • Existing agreements keep the old terms until they expire. LESCO has said that consumers who increase their net metering capacity are moved to net billing. Check before you add panels.
  • Size limit. Solar capacity cannot exceed your sanctioned load.
  • Three-phase. Net billing is available to three-phase 400 V or 11 kV consumers.
  • Approval. Systems up to 25 kW are approved by the DISCO with no NEPRA licence fee. Larger systems pay a one-time Rs 1,000 per kW to NEPRA.
  • Inverter registration. LESCO requires the inverter serial number and manufacturer at the application stage and checks them again when the meter is fitted. A mismatch can stop the connection.
  • Portal. LESCO handles applications made after 9 February 2026 through its Net Billing Portal.

AMI smart meters instead of green meters

LESCO stopped buying bidirectional green meters in September 2025. New solar connections get AMI smart meters, which send readings to LESCO automatically. Under the 2026 regulations the consumer pays for metering; the amount comes on LESCO's demand notice: WhatsApp for today's rate. Our guide to AMI smart meters and net billing explains what changed, and the green meter and FESCO/LESCO application guide lists the documents and timelines.

The practical point for Lahore homes: a unit you use yourself is worth your full tariff, while an exported unit is worth much less. We design for self-use first, and many Lahore customers now add a battery for evening load. Our hybrid vs on-grid vs off-grid and battery sizing guides help you decide.

Solar in Lahore smog

Lahore's winter smog affects solar in two ways.

  1. Haze in the air absorbs and scatters sunlight before it reaches your roof. Output dips during heavy smog weeks and recovers when the air clears.
  2. Grime on the glass. Smog leaves an oily film of soot and dust that rain may not wash off. This part you can fix by cleaning the panels safely.

Smog and short winter days together make November to January the weakest months for generation. That is normal and should be expected in any sizing estimate. If output stays low on a clear day after cleaning, there may be a fault, and an engineer should check it. Read do solar panels work in fog and smog and our solar panel cleaning guide.

Who we install for in Lahore

  • Homes, from 5 marla houses to 1 kanal and larger, usually hybrid systems with lithium batteries.
  • Commercial buildings, offices, showrooms and plazas with daytime loads.
  • Schools and hospitals, where daytime load suits solar and backup matters.
  • Factories in and around Lahore, where we design hybrid systems that work with the grid, generators and battery storage. See industrial and commercial solar.

How to choose among solar companies in Lahore

Lahore has a large number of solar companies, and "best solar company in Lahore" lists are rarely independent. Judge a company on what it will commit to in its quotation:

  1. Does an engineer visit the site before quoting?
  2. Does the quotation list brand, model, quantity and warranty for every item?
  3. Who installs: the company's own team or a subcontractor?
  4. Is the manufacturer's warranty listed for each product?
  5. What does the company itself warrant, and how quickly does it respond to a complaint?

Our 10-point checklist for comparing solar companies covers the rest. Here is how we answer those questions:

  • Site surveys are normally free, and design is done in-house.
  • Every quotation is a detailed BOQ. See the brands we supply.
  • Panels, inverters and batteries carry the manufacturer's warranty per product.
  • Our structures carry a 3-year Solar Works Pakistan structure warranty, and our service warranty covers the first year under applicable project terms.
  • After a complaint is registered, we target sending service personnel within 48 hours to begin diagnosis.
  • Small projects are normally completed in about one week, subject to payment, equipment availability and site readiness.

More detail is on our installation services page.

Frequently asked questions

Mainstream N-type panels are WhatsApp for today's rate per watt today, about WhatsApp for today's rate for a 615 W panel. Prices change with the dollar rate and stock, so WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 for the current rate on the brand and wattage you want.

Do you have an office in Lahore?

Yes, Solar Works Pakistan has a branch in Lahore, and our head office is in Faisalabad. Call or WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 before visiting so the right engineer is available.

Can I still get net metering from LESCO?

Not as a new applicant. Applications from 9 February 2026 go through net billing. Existing agreements keep their terms until they expire, but increasing your capacity can move you to net billing.

Does LESCO still install green meters?

No. LESCO stopped buying green meters in September 2025 and fits AMI smart meters on new solar connections. The consumer pays the metering cost shown on LESCO's demand notice.

How much does smog reduce solar output in Lahore?

There is no single figure for every roof. Smog reduces the sunlight reaching panels and leaves grime on the glass. Output recovers when the air clears, and cleaning removes the grime part.

Which is the best solar company in Lahore?

The right company is the one that surveys your site, gives a detailed BOQ with exact models, installs with its own team and lists every warranty in the quotation. Use our 10-point checklist to compare quotes.

What size solar system do I need in Lahore?

It depends on your units, daytime load and how much backup you want. Our projects start at about 6 kW. Send us 12 months of bills and we will size it for you.
