Canadian Solar verification: how to check a panel is genuine
Last updated:
Canadian Solar verification takes about a minute: enter the panel's serial number on Canadian Solar's official Module Authenticity page. A genuine panel returns its module type, power, grade, ship-to country, importer, production date and shipment date. A fake returns no record.
Read the ship-to country carefully. Canadian Solar states that the warranty is effective only in the ship-to country shown, so a panel sold in Pakistan should show Pakistan.
Canadian Solar panel verification: step by step
Do this for every Canadian Solar plate in the delivery, before you pay.
- Find the serial number. It is a combination of letters and numbers, printed with a barcode on the sticker on the back of the panel. On most models a matching code is visible under the front glass.
- Check the two serials match. A difference between the back sticker and the code under the glass means the label was changed.
- Open the official page. Go to snquerycn.csisolar.com/indexEn.html. Type the address yourself; never use a link sent by the seller.
- Enter the serial and the verification code. Type the serial number and the verification code shown on the page, then press Submit.
- Read the result line by line. Module Type and Power must match the label. Module Grade, Ship To Country and Query Times are explained below.
- If no record is found, recheck for typing errors, then email verification@csisolar.com with photos of the front sticker and the back nameplate sticker.
- Check every panel and keep the record. Save a screenshot of each result with your invoice for any warranty claim.
How to read the Canadian Solar result
The result page lists nine lines. Five of them tell you whether the panel is what you are paying for.
- Module Type and Power must match the label exactly.
- Module Grade should be A grade for a full-price panel.
- Ship To Country should be Pakistan; the warranty is effective only in that country.
- Date of Production tells you how old the panel is.
- Query Times shows how often the serial has been checked. A very high number on a "new" panel can mean the serial has been copied.
The other lines (Importer's Name, Date of Shipment and Query Date) help you match the panel to the shipment your seller describes.
Canadian Solar Pakistan model checks
The Canadian Solar panel most sold in Pakistan today is the TOPBiHiKu N-type bifacial in the 580-585 watt range, for example the TOPBiHiKu6 CS6W-TB-AG. Bifacial means it generates from both sides, so the back is glass, not a white plastic sheet.

Warning signs of a fake Canadian Solar panel
Any one of these is a reason to recheck before you pay.

|---|---|
| "No information found" on the official page | Fake, relabelled, or a typing error (recheck, then email Canadian Solar) |
| Module Type or Power differs from the label | Relabelled panel |
| Ship To Country is not Pakistan | Grey import; the manufacturer warranty may not apply here |
| Module Grade is not A, but sold at A-grade price | Downgraded panel |
| Very high Query Times on a "new" panel | Serial copied onto other panels |
| Back-label serial differs from the one under the glass | Label replaced |

Frequently asked questions
How do I do a Canadian Solar verification in Pakistan?
Open snquerycn.csisolar.com/indexEn.html, enter the serial number from the back sticker and the verification code, and press Submit. Check that the type, power and grade match the label and that the ship-to country is Pakistan.
Why does the ship-to country matter?
Canadian Solar says the warranty is effective only in the ship-to country shown in the result. A panel shipped to another country may not be covered by the manufacturer warranty in Pakistan.
What if the official page says no information found?
Recheck the serial for typing errors. If there is still no record, email verification@csisolar.com with photos of the front sticker and the back nameplate sticker.
Where is the Canadian Solar serial number?
On the barcode label on the back of the panel. Most models also have a matching barcode sealed under the front glass.
Is a QR code on the panel enough to prove it is genuine?
No. A QR sticker can be printed for any panel and can point to any website. Only a check you open yourself on Canadian Solar's own website counts.
Is a "Canadian solar plate" the same as a Canadian Solar panel?
Yes. "Solar plate" is the common name for a solar panel in Pakistan.
Can I verify Canadian Solar panels after installation?
Yes, through the barcode under the front glass, but it is much easier before installation. Ask for the serial list first.
