JA Solar panel verification: how to check a panel is genuine
Last updated:
JA Solar panel verification is done on JA Solar's official Module Authenticity page: enter the panel's barcode and the on-screen verification code. A genuine panel returns its record, including the module grade; a fake returns "module information not found".
JA Solar tracks every module with its own unique code, so a real barcode always leads back to the factory record. A QR sticker or a seller's own "verification link" proves nothing.
JA Solar serial number check: step by step
Each panel takes about a minute. Do the check before payment and before the solar plates go on the roof.
- Find the barcode. It is a string of numbers, or letters and numbers, printed on the label on the back of the panel. On most models a matching code is visible under the front glass.
- Check the two codes match. A difference between the back label and the code under the glass means the label was changed.
- Open the official page. Go to product.jasolar.com/en.html. Type the address yourself; never use a link sent by the seller.
- Enter the barcode and the verification code. Type the product barcode and the verification code shown on the page, then press Submit.
- Read the result. The grade should be A grade for a full-price panel, and the details should match the model and wattage on the label.
- If the module is not found, recheck for typing errors, then contact services@jasolar.com with photos of the label.
- Match the datasheet. Check the model code, wattage, size and weight against the official JA Solar datasheet.
- Check every panel and keep the record. Save a screenshot of each result with your invoice for any warranty claim.
JA Solar DeepBlue model checks
JA Solar's DeepBlue N-type panels in the 560-610 watt range are the most common JA models in Pakistan. Each model code starts with "JAM" (for example JAM72D40-xxx/MB) and must appear on the official datasheet with the same wattage range.
| Check | What a genuine JA Solar panel shows |
|---|---|
| Official lookup | A record on product.jasolar.com matching the label |
| Grade | A grade for a full-price panel |
| Model code | Starts with JAM; listed on the official datasheet |
| Size and weight | Matches the datasheet for that exact model |
| Double-glass / bifacial model | Glass on both sides, not a white plastic back |
| Invoice | Brand, model, wattage, quantity and serial numbers |
Why the JA Solar grade line matters
The grade line is the one most buyers skip. A panel below A grade is a genuine JA Solar module with factory defects, and it should cost less than an A-grade panel.
If the result shows anything other than A, ask the seller to explain the price before you pay. Keep the screenshot either way.
Warning signs of a fake JA Solar panel
Treat any of these as a reason to stop and recheck.
| Warning sign | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| "Module information not found" on the official page | Fake, relabelled, or a typing error (recheck, then contact JA Solar) |
| Grade is not A, but sold at A-grade price | Downgraded panel |
| Back-label code differs from the one under the glass | Label replaced |
| Two panels with the same barcode | Copied label |
| Price far below today's JA Solar rate | Reject, used or fake stock |
| Seller sends their own "verification link" | Fake verification page |
Frequently asked questions
How do I verify a JA Solar panel in Pakistan?
Open product.jasolar.com/en.html, enter the barcode from the back label and the verification code, and press Submit. Check that the grade is A and the details match the label.
What if the JA Solar page says module not found?
Recheck the barcode for typing errors. If there is still no record, contact services@jasolar.com with photos of the label, and do not buy until it is confirmed.
Where is the serial number on a JA Solar panel?
On the label on the back of the panel, next to the QR code. Most models also have a matching barcode under the front glass.
How do I know a JA Solar model code is real?
Genuine JA Solar codes start with "JAM" and appear on the official datasheet with the same wattage range.
Are B-grade JA Solar panels fake?
No. They are genuine factory seconds with cosmetic or performance defects, and they should be sold as B-grade at a lower price, never as A-grade.
Is a QR code enough to prove a JA Solar panel is genuine?
No. A QR sticker can point anywhere. Enter the barcode yourself on JA Solar's official page.
Can I verify JA Solar panels after installation?
Yes, through the barcode under the front glass, but it is much easier before installation. Ask for the serial list first.
