What you will see
- A proposed appliance is below the inverter’s total rating but above its per-phase allowance.
- Two phases appear lightly loaded while the required appliance struggles.
- A brochure mentions unbalanced output without clearly explaining the limit.
- Equipment works with the grid present but causes problems during backup.
Why it happens
The total output rating applies across the inverter’s phases. Models that support unbalanced loads may allow more on one phase than an equal division would suggest, but that allowance is still specified and limited. Solis publishes an individual-phase limit for its relevant three-phase product family.
Read the ratings in the operating mode you intend to use. Grid-connected operation, backup supply and supported energy-storage modes are different conditions; the presence of grid electricity can change how the property’s demand is supplied.
Also identify whether the appliance itself requires single-phase or three-phase power. This is a question about its electrical supply requirement, not simply its advertised wattage. The installer should review the appliance nameplate and starting demand before confirming suitability.
Total rating, shared three ways
Three separate questions
- 01Can it start?
- 02Can it run with the other loads?
- 03How long can the battery support it?
What you can check yourself
- Find the exact inverter model code, rather than only its advertised capacity.
- Obtain the proposed appliance’s nameplate or manufacturer datasheet.
- List other equipment that must run at the same time.
- State whether the appliance must work during load-shedding or only with the grid available.
- Ask the installer to confirm the total and per-phase backup limits in writing.
- When reviewing a proposal, keep the questions separate: “Can it start?”, “Can it run with the other loads?” and “How long can the battery support it?” A satisfactory answer to one does not automatically answer the others.
What not to do
- Do not join inverter phases together, adapt a three-phase appliance to a single-phase supply yourself, or assume extra batteries remove a phase limit.
- Do not treat the words “unbalanced output” as a complete load assessment.
When to call us
- Ask for a load assessment before connecting a major new appliance or changing backup circuits. If equipment already fails to start, stop repeated attempts and provide its supply requirements and the exact inverter model.
Appliance checks in Faisalabad and Lahore
Before buying a large AC, pump or machine for a Faisalabad or Lahore property, send us its nameplate and the inverter model. We will confirm total and per-phase limits in writing.
Send us
