What you will see
- A manufacturer’s warranty still active but a visit charge proposed.
- Confusion about transport, labour or access costs.
- A fault involving wiring or another item outside the reported component.
- Different promises in a quotation, agreement and manufacturer document.
Why it happens
Manufacturer documents define their own claim processes, coverage and remedies. Solis and LONGi provide separate product-specific warranty arrangements; those documents do not, by themselves, establish every term of an installer’s service agreement.
Ask which project document applies, what the visit covers and how any further work will be quoted. If the fault’s cause is not yet known, the proposed diagnostic scope should say so.
Do not assume a term quoted for a different customer or an older project applies to yours. Keep written clarification with the service record, particularly if a replacement or additional work changes the scope.
What the manufacturer covers
Manufacturer
The product and remedy in its terms.
Project terms
Visit, labour, transport and access.
A term quoted to another customer may not apply to you.
What you can check yourself
- Gather the signed agreement, quotation and warranty documents.
- Check the equipment identification and relevant dates.
- Ask for proposed charges and inclusions in writing.
- Keep previous approvals and service reports together.
- Clarify whether a quotation concerns attendance, diagnosis, repair or replacement. These may be separate stages rather than one guaranteed outcome.
What not to do
- Do not open equipment or attempt a repair to avoid a visit charge. Do not assume claim approval before diagnosis. Avoid delaying an emergency response while discussing routine service terms.
When to call us
- Contact us to clarify the applicable project terms and scope when registering a service request.
