What are bifacial / N-type / half-cut panels?
Short answer
Half-cut: each cell is cut in two. This lowers losses and helps when part of the panel is shaded.
N-type: a newer cell technology that loses less power to heat and ages more slowly than older P-type cells.
Bifacial: the panel also collects light reflected onto its back. It gains the most on elevated structures over light-coloured surfaces.
Most modern panels combine all three.
