Do I need Huawei optimizers on my roof?
Short answer
Not always. Optimizers fit under each panel and help when parts of the roof are shaded at different times, or when panels face different directions. On an open, evenly lit roof they add cost with less benefit.
They also add per-panel monitoring and some safety functions. Huawei inverters report optimizer layout problems as alarm 2080 and a failed optimizer as 2081.
