Solar in Okara and Pakpattan: Panel Prices and Installation

Short answer

Solar panels in Okara and Pakpattan cost the national rate, today WhatsApp for today's rate per watt for mainstream N-type panels (about WhatsApp for today's rate for a 615 W panel). Okara district is supplied by LESCO and Pakpattan district by MEPCO, so the net billing paperwork goes to a different company depending on which side of the district line you are on. We have no office in Okara or Pakpattan. WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 for today's rate.

This page covers prices, the two DISCOs, and solar for the agri-processing units, cold stores, dairy and homes found across Okara, Renala Khurd, Depalpur, Pakpattan and Arifwala.

Agri-processing: the load pattern behind most enquiries

Okara and Pakpattan sit in one of Punjab's main farming belts. Okara is known for dairy and for the Sahiwal cattle and Nili-Ravi buffalo breeds, and the Okara-Pakpattan-Sahiwal belt is widely reported to grow a large share of Pakistan's potatoes. That brings flour and rice units, cotton ginning, potato cold stores, feed mills and dairy collection points, alongside textile units in and around Okara city.

These sites are different from a city factory in a few ways that shape the solar design.

Seasonal loads

Ginning runs hard after the cotton harvest. Potato cold stores fill after the harvest and then hold stock for months. A plant sized for the busiest weeks can sit half-idle for the rest of the year, and under net billing surplus exports earn far less than imported units cost. We size to the load that runs for most of the year, then look at whether a battery or a phased expansion covers the peaks.

Motor and compressor starts

Grinding motors, ginning stands and refrigeration compressors pull heavy starting current. Inverters, protection and cable sizes have to allow for those starts, not just the running load. Our guides to solar for flour and rice mills and solar for cold storage explain how this is handled.

Generators

Most mills and cold stores here already have a generator for outages. Solar and generator can share the load safely with the right controller. We do not sell generators, but we integrate existing sets into hybrid systems; see solar and generator hybrid systems.

Sheet roofs and spare land

Process halls usually have light metal sheet roofs. Fixings, purlin strength and leak sealing need an engineering check; see solar on tin and metal sheet roofs. Where roof space runs out, some sites use ground-mounted arrays on spare land.

Solar Works Pakistan designs these plants in-house, including the structures, and has 50+ industrial clients. Our industrial and commercial solar page explains how we deliver them.

Farms, dairy sheds and tubewells

Farmhouses and dairy sheds need fans, lights, water pumps and, at collection points, milk chillers that run long hours. Tubewells need a dedicated VFD design; see our solar tubewell guide.

Solar Works Pakistan designs and installs solar for tubewells, dairy sheds and farm buildings in Okara and Pakpattan.

Homes: phase, backup and the Sutlej belt

Many houses in Depalpur, Renala Khurd, Pakpattan and Arifwala have single-phase connections, and outages can be longer than in the big cities. Three points matter:

  1. Phase. Net billing is for three-phase consumers. A single-phase house that wants to export usually needs a three-phase connection first; see single-phase to three-phase conversion. A self-use hybrid system works without export.
  2. Backup. A hybrid system with a lithium battery charges from the sun and carries far more of the house than a UPS on tubular batteries. Our solar vs UPS guide compares them honestly.
  3. Weather and dust. Field dust settles quickly in dry months, and monsoon storms hit open plains hard. Plan a cleaning routine and check structure anchoring; see solar panel cleaning and storm and lightning safety. Pakpattan lies on the Sutlej, which flooded parts of the area in 2023, so in low-lying sites we keep inverters, batteries and distribution boards well above floor level.

Which DISCO covers you: LESCO or MEPCO

DistrictMain townsDISCO
OkaraOkara, Renala Khurd, DepalpurLESCO

LESCO lists Okara among its five districts, with Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib. MEPCO lists Pakpattan among the districts it serves in South Punjab, with Sahiwal, Vehari and Bahawalnagar. Both apply NEPRA's national rules, summarised in our net metering and net billing guide:

Okara (LESCO): LESCO fits AMI smart meters on solar connections and checks that the inverter make and serial number match the application; see AMI smart meters and net billing. It has reported handling post-9 February applications through its Net Billing Portal.

Pakpattan (MEPCO): For Sahiwal, which is also MEPCO, see our Gujranwala and Sahiwal page.

Our green meter and net billing application guide lists the documents and step timelines.

Solar Works Pakistan prepares, submits and follows up the LESCO and MEPCO net billing application on your behalf.

How a project works

Engineering and design are done in-house, and installation is by our own teams.

  1. Send data on WhatsApp: twelve months of bills, roof or shed photos and a load list. For mills and cold stores, add motor and compressor ratings, generator size and season dates.
  2. Remote review of units, sanctioned load and connection type, with an indicative size.
  3. Site survey, normally free, to check the roof, shading, structure and cable routes.
  4. In-house design and a detailed BOQ with brand, model, quantity and warranty for every item.
  5. Installation by our own team, then testing, safe commissioning and handover.

Once a complaint is registered, we target sending service personnel within 48 hours to begin diagnosis; the final fix depends on the fault and spare parts. Small projects are normally finished in about one week, subject to payment, equipment availability and site readiness; larger projects follow a project-specific schedule. Panels, inverters and batteries carry the manufacturer's warranty per product. Our structures carry a 3-year Solar Works Pakistan structure warranty, and our service warranty covers the first year under applicable project terms. See installation services.

Solar Works Pakistan was founded in 2021 and has served 300+ customers, including 50+ industrial clients, with power-generation heritage going back to the 1980s through our founder, Akram Ullah Khan.

Frequently asked questions

What is the solar panel price in Okara and Pakpattan?

Mainstream N-type panels are WhatsApp for today's rate per watt, about WhatsApp for today's rate for a 615 W panel. It is the same national rate as Lahore and Faisalabad and changes with the dollar and stock, so WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 for today's figure.

Do you have an office in Okara or Pakpattan?

No. Our own engineers and installation teams cover all of Punjab, starting with a WhatsApp review of your bills.

Which DISCO covers Okara, and which covers Pakpattan?

Okara district, including Renala Khurd and Depalpur, is under LESCO. Pakpattan district, including Arifwala, is under MEPCO. The NEPRA rules are the same, but your application goes to your own DISCO.

Can a ginning unit or potato cold store run on solar?

Solar can carry a large share of the daytime load, working with the grid, a generator or battery storage. Motor starts, night loads and the seasonal pattern all need careful sizing, so we design each plant from its load data.

Can I still get net metering in Okara or Pakpattan?

Not as a new applicant. Applications from 9 February 2026 come under net billing, where exports earn less than imports cost. Existing agreements keep their terms until they expire.

What is the smallest system you install?

Our projects start at about 6 kW. Send your bill and we will tell you honestly what size your load needs.
