What you will see

  • PV Reverse Connection fault or alarm in iSolarCloud
  • Appears right after new installation or roof work
  • One string shows no contribution

Why it happens

If the plus and minus cables of a string are swapped at the inverter, it refuses to use that string to avoid damage.

The fault number tells the engineer which input or string to look at.

The code number tells the engineer which string. Leave the DC side to an engineer.

Applies to Sungrow SG and SH inverters.

What you can check yourself

  • Note the exact code number; it identifies the string
  • Note any recent work on panels or wiring

What not to do

  • Do not switch off the DC switch or pull connectors while current is flowing; Sungrow warns this must be done only when current has dropped, which needs a meter
  • Do not swap cables yourself

When to call us

  • Measure string current and wait for safe conditions
  • Correct the polarity of the named string
  • Check the rest of the strings before restart

After installation work

If you see this after another installer added panels, our Faisalabad and Lahore engineers can correct the string and recheck the whole system.

Send us

the code number, a screenshot, and when the panels were last installed or changed
