What you will see

  • Reflux fault after adding or replacing panels
  • The fault names a string number
  • Generation dropped after the change

Why it happens

Strings sharing an input should match. A shorter string has lower voltage, so the others push current back through it.

A string pointing another way or shaded heavily behaves like a shorter one.

Diagram

Mismatched strings push current backwards

Matched strings

Same number of panels, same direction. Current flows forward.

One shorter or shaded string

Lower voltage, so the others push current back into it.

Common after adding or replacing panels.

Applies to Sungrow inverters with more than one string per input.

What you can check yourself

  • Note the string number and any recent change to panels
  • Check if that string faces a different direction or gets shade

What not to do

  • Do not disconnect strings yourself

When to call us

  • Count panels per string and confirm the design
  • Measure open-circuit voltage safely
  • Rearrange strings so each input matches

Adding panels later

Many Punjab homes add panels a year or two after the first install. Our engineers in Faisalabad and Lahore redesign the strings so the new panels match the old ones.
