Why this matters to you
Quality shows up as the capacity you actually get, how the battery holds up after a few years of daily cycling, and whether anyone stands behind it when something goes wrong. It is the easiest thing to cut when a quotation needs to look cheaper, and the hardest for a customer to inspect.
What to look at
Cells and assembly
Cell grade and origin, how cells are joined, internal fusing and busbar quality, and how the pack is braced so cells do not move. Well-made packs have tidy internal wiring, proper insulation and terminals designed to be torqued to a specification.
Enclosure and protection rating
The enclosure keeps dust, moisture and fingers out, and it should be rated for where the battery will be installed. Dust is a real condition in Punjab, and an indoor-rated unit put somewhere exposed is being used outside its specification.
The BMS specification
What the BMS monitors, what protections it implements, whether it supports communication with your inverter, and whether its firmware can be updated. A capable BMS is a large part of what you are paying for.
Documentation and traceability
Ask for the datasheet and installation manual for the exact model, the safety test certificates the manufacturer publishes for it, and a serial number on the unit that matches the paperwork you are given. Check the warranty terms: duration, what is covered, whether it depends on approved installation, and who honours it in Pakistan.
Signs worth a second look
No model-specific datasheet, a datasheet that does not name the manufacturer, a warranty with no local route to claim it, missing or duplicated serial numbers, or a price far below comparable products with the same specification. None of these proves a problem on its own — together they are a reason to ask more questions before paying.
