What you will see

  • Output that plateaus at midday instead of rising.
  • Over-temperature warnings or a temperature figure climbing in the app.
  • Fans running loudly, or the case too hot to keep a hand on.

Why it happens

Every inverter reduces its output once its internal temperature passes a set point. Direct afternoon sun on the case, a closed room with no ventilation, a tin shed or blocked air vents push it there quickly in a Pakistani summer.

Dust packed into heat sinks and fans has the same effect, and it builds up gradually.

What you can check yourself

  • Check whether sunlight falls on the inverter at any time of day.
  • Make sure nothing is stored against or on top of it and the vents are clear.
  • Gently dust the outside of the vents with a dry cloth. Do not open the case.
  • Compare a hot day’s curve with a cooler day’s.

What not to do

  • Do not throw water on the inverter or cover it with a cloth to shade it.
  • Do not open the case to clean the fans.

When to call us

  • Derating happens most days in summer.
  • The inverter shuts down completely on heat.
  • You would like the unit moved or shaded. We can fit a proper canopy or relocate it.
