Why it happens

Solar equipment needs protection during other roof work. Module manufacturers prohibit standing or walking on panels; they are not a temporary walkway or a platform for materials.

Ask the builder to identify the work area, tools used and any equipment that was moved, without asking anyone to recreate the event.

The solar team should decide what inspection, repair and recommissioning checks are needed. The building contractor should also address any related roof or waterproofing issue.
