What you will see
- Battery stops charging on hot afternoons
- ID186 or ID188 high temperature, ID187 or ID190 low temperature
- BMS OTP (ID179) or UTP (ID180) alarm
Why it happens
Lithium batteries are protected from charging or discharging outside their safe temperature range. A battery in direct sun, in a closed cupboard, or next to the inverter heat runs hot.
Too hot or too cold to charge
Shaded, ventilated space
Hot, closed room
What you can check yourself
- Check that the battery space is shaded and ventilated
- Note the time of day it happens
- For lead-acid on HYD models, ID049 can mean the temperature sensor is loose; ask your installer
What not to do
- Do not cover the battery or put it in a sealed box
- Do not cool it with water
When to call us
- Improve ventilation or relocate the battery
- Check the temperature sensor
- Review battery data logs
Hot battery rooms
Summer in Faisalabad and Lahore pushes many battery rooms past safe temperatures. We assess and improve battery placement.
