What you will see

Why it happens
Solis explains that meter and current-transformer installation affects import, export and consumption monitoring. Incorrect installation or configuration can therefore produce misleading power-flow information and affect control.
The installer should check the measurement arrangement against the actual system, including any additional inverter or generator. Some displayed quantities are calculated from other measurements, so an error at one point can affect another displayed result.
First establish whether the negative value is a brief event, a consistent pattern or simply the sign convention for a different measurement. Save the full screen so the labels remain visible.
Consumption is calculated, not measured directly
If the meter or CT is placed or set up wrongly, the calculated load can go negative.
What you can check yourself
- Capture the full power-flow page with its timestamp.
- Note which figure is negative and when it changes.
- Record recent meter, inverter or electrical work.
- Provide existing system drawings and equipment models.
- If the issue began after an expansion, identify what was added. Do not deliberately switch large appliances repeatedly to reproduce a suspicious reading.
What not to do
- Do not reverse current transformers, swap phases or change meter addresses yourself. Do not disable export control because the app appears wrong. Avoid assuming that an unusual consumption display proves the utility meter is inaccurate.
