What you will see
- Offline or no data in the app.
- The inverter screen still showing generation.
- A dongle light that is off, blinking or a different colour from usual.
Why it happens
The dongle stores your WiFi name and password. If either changes, or the router is replaced, it cannot reconnect by itself. Most dongles also only work on the 2.4 GHz band, so a router that combines bands or broadcasts only 5 GHz can stop them connecting.
Distance and thick walls between the router and the inverter cause intermittent dropouts.
What you can check yourself
- Confirm the inverter screen shows generation. If it does, the system is fine.
- Confirm the router is on and other devices connect.
- Ask whether the router, network name or password changed recently.
- Check that your router has a 2.4 GHz network available.
- Use the brand app’s WiFi configuration option to re-enter your details.
What not to do
- Do not factory-reset the dongle unless the app’s steps tell you to.
- Do not unplug the dongle repeatedly.
When to call us
- Re-pairing does not work.
- The dongle shows no light at all.
- The inverter is too far from the router for a steady signal.
