Why does solar production appear at the wrong time or on the wrong date?

What you will see

• Generation appearing late in the evening on the graph.
• A daily total apparently split across two dates.
• Reports using a different time from the phone.
• A change after plant setup, account migration or service work.

Why it happens

Solis includes the plant time zone among its monitoring setup details. An incorrect plant setting can therefore be relevant when investigating the time shown in reports.

The team should distinguish the plant’s reporting time zone, the device clock and the phone’s display settings. Do not assume that every platform uses or synchronises them in exactly the same way.

If scheduled operation also occurs at the wrong time, report that as a separate symptom. The service review should compare the actual schedule and equipment time with the intended local operating period.

• Record the plant time zone shown in ordinary account information.
• Note whether the error is consistent each day.
• Identify whether scheduled equipment behaviour is also affected.
• Save an example before a correction so the earlier reports can be interpreted accurately. Ask how a time-zone change may affect historical presentation.

What not to do

• Do not alter installer schedules or country settings merely to move a chart. Do not manually rewrite historical readings to match an expected sunrise time.
