What you will see
- A new morning or afternoon dip in the production curve.

Why it happens
Module installation guidance identifies shading as a performance consideration. The effect depends on the affected modules and system arrangement, so a shaded fraction of roof area is not a reliable percentage estimate of energy loss.
The installer should assess the sun path, array layout and input arrangement together. Photographs taken at known times can help, but the assessment may require a planned site survey.
Any proposed relocation or redesign must also account for supports, wiring, roof condition and access. Moving a tank or panel without considering those interfaces can create a different problem.

What you can check yourself
- Record the date the nearby change was completed.
- Save full-day curves from before and after the work.
- Provide existing layout drawings and construction photographs.
- Note the hours when a shadow is visible from a safe position.
- Do not climb onto the roof to follow a shadow. Tell us where the view is limited so the survey can be arranged appropriately.
What not to do
- Do not move panels, remove supports or rearrange strings yourself. Do not buy additional equipment solely on a promise that it will eliminate every shading loss. Any proposed solution needs a site-specific assessment.
