How to Choose Between Solar Companies in Pakistan: A 10-Point Checklist

Short answer

The right solar company is the one that sizes the system from your real load, names exact brands and models in a written quotation, uses its own trained team, and stays responsible after installation. Price matters, but a low quote with vague equipment and no after-sales plan usually costs more over the life of the system.

Searches for "top 10 solar companies in Pakistan" or "best solar company in Pakistan" return lists, but rankings rarely tell you how a company will handle your roof, your load and your faults. This checklist gives you ten questions that separate a serious solar energy company from a quick-sale installer. Use it with every company you speak to, including us.

Why the choice of company matters more than the panel brand

Most reputable solar panel companies in Pakistan sell panels and inverters from the same group of well-known manufacturers. What differs is everything around the equipment:

A well-designed system from a mid-range quotation will often outperform a poorly installed system with premium panels.

The 10-point checklist for comparing solar installation companies

1. Do they ask for your electricity bills and load before quoting?

A serious company asks for at least 12 months of bills and the appliances you want to run, especially for backup. Be cautious of anyone who quotes a "10 kW package" over the phone without asking a single question about your usage.

2. Do they visit the site?

Roof direction, shading, roof strength, cable routes and the distribution board all affect the design. A site survey should come before the final quotation.

3. Is the design done by engineers?

Ask who designs the system. Look for string sizing that matches the inverter, a drawing or layout, and an explanation of why a given inverter and panel combination was chosen. For factories, ask for load analysis and a proper single-line diagram.

4. Does the quotation list exact brands, models and quantities?

A good quotation or bill of quantities (BOQ) names the panel brand and model, the inverter model, battery model, structure type, cable brand and size, and protection devices. "Tier-1 panels, branded inverter" is not enough. Vague wording makes it easy to swap in cheaper equipment later.

5. Can they show the equipment is genuine?

Ask how you can verify serial numbers on the manufacturer's system. Our guide on how to check genuine solar panels explains the process for major brands. Be careful with refurbished, grade-B or unlabelled stock.

6. Is the manufacturer's warranty stated for each item?

Panel, inverter and battery warranties come from the manufacturers and vary by product. They should be stated, for the exact models supplied. Be wary of round warranty promises that are not tied to a specific model.

7. What does the company itself warrant?

Separate from the manufacturer, the installer should stand behind its own work: the structure, the wiring and the installation. Ask what is covered, for how long, and what is excluded.

8. Who installs: their own team or a subcontractor?

Many companies sell the system and pass installation to whoever is available. Ask whether the installers are employees, who supervises the site, and what safety equipment and commissioning tests are used.

9. Who handles paperwork and approvals?

Net metering or net billing involves the electricity distribution company, documents and inspections. Ask who prepares and follows up the application, and what is included in the price. Read our net metering and net billing guide to understand the current rules first.

10. What happens after handover?

Ask about monitoring, response times for complaints, and the cost of service after the first year. Ask for a named contact and a phone number that is actually answered.

A bit of background: Solar Works Pakistan was founded in 2021 in Faisalabad, with a branch in Lahore. Our power-generation experience goes back to the 1980s through our founder, Akram Ullah Khan, whose career includes WAPDA and Saudi Electricity Company. We have served 300+ customers, including 50+ industrial clients, from textile and dyeing units to schools, hospitals and petrol pumps.

We handle projects from about 6 kW up to megawatt scale. Small projects are normally completed in about one week, subject to payment, equipment availability and site readiness. Larger projects follow a project-specific schedule. For factories, see our industrial and commercial solar services; for homes and shops, see solar installation services. Our structures are designed in-house and assembled on site by our team; read more in our solar structures guide.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best solar company in Pakistan?

There is no single best company for everyone. The best choice for you is the company that sizes the system from your real usage, names exact equipment, installs with its own trained team and supports you after handover. Use the 10-point checklist above to compare.

Are "top 10 solar companies in Pakistan" lists reliable?

Treat them as a starting point only. Many lists are not based on independent testing, and a company that suits a large factory may not suit a small home. Your own comparison of written quotations is more useful.

How many quotes should I get?

Two or three detailed quotations are usually enough. Make sure each one covers the same system size and type, so you are comparing like with like.

Should I choose the cheapest quote?

Not automatically. Check whether the cheaper quote names the same panel, inverter, battery, structure and cable as the others. Differences in structure, cabling and protection devices often explain the gap.

What warranties should a solar company give?

Panels, inverters and batteries carry manufacturer warranties that vary by product and should be written into the quote. The installer should also state its own warranty on workmanship and structure, and explain what is excluded.

How do I find solar companies near me in Punjab?

Look for a company with a verifiable office in or near your city, check its Google reviews, and ask for references from similar projects. Solar Works Pakistan serves all of Punjab from Faisalabad and Lahore.

Do solar companies install systems smaller than 5 kW?

Some do. Solar Works Pakistan normally works on systems from about 6 kW upward. If your load is small, we can explain how to size it so you know what to ask other installers.
