How does a Growatt SPH hybrid handle load-shedding?

Short answer

When the grid fails, a Growatt SPH switches its EPS (backup) circuit to battery and solar; Growatt states a typical switching time of 10 ms. Only appliances on the EPS circuit stay on.

If the EPS load is too high, the SPH reports overload. Growatt notes that after three overload warnings the off-grid function is locked for an hour, so it is important to keep heavy loads like ACs off the backup circuit unless the system is sized for them.
