Lithium or lead-acid/tubular: which should I buy?
Short answer
For daily solar cycling, lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) generally lasts much longer. It lets you use more of its capacity, needs no water top-ups and takes less space. Tubular batteries cost less up front but wear out sooner with daily cycling. Whichever you choose, the battery must be approved for your inverter and installed properly. Matching voltage alone does not make a battery compatible.
