Does a Huawei inverter give backup during load-shedding?

Short answer

A grid-tied Huawei inverter (for example most M1/M2 set-ups without a battery and backup wiring) stops when the grid goes off; it shows Grid Loss. A SUN2000-L1 with a battery and backup wiring can run selected loads off-grid; its LEDs turn orange in off-grid mode.

If the backup load is too high, the L1 retries every 5 minutes and, after three failed attempts, waits 2 hours. So we keep heavy loads like ACs off the backup circuit unless the system is sized for them.
