How does a Solis hybrid handle load-shedding?

Short answer

A Solis S6-EH1P hybrid switches its backup port to battery and solar in under 10 ms (Solis states this for the S6-EH1P-L), so lights, fans and routers on that circuit keep running.

If backup loads are too high, or a motor's start-up surge is too big, it shows Over-Load; Solis says to remove some backup load or move inductive loads off backup.
