What you will see

  • Output drops in the hottest afternoon hours
  • ID113 OverTempDerating or ID057 ambient temperature
  • Inverter is hot to the touch from the front

Why it happens

Inverters lose some energy as heat. If the air around them is hot and still, or the heat sink is clogged with dust, they must cut back.

Codes ID050–061 and ID113 on SOFAR KTLM, KTLX, HYD and ESI inverters.

What you can check yourself

  • Check whether sun falls on the inverter in the afternoon
  • Keep space around it clear
  • Clean dust from the heat sink with a dry soft brush or blower when safe, as SOFAR advises; never water

What not to do

  • Do not wet or cover the inverter

When to call us

  • Fit a proper shade or relocate
  • Check fans on models that have them
  • Check internal temperature sensor codes (ID056 NTC)

Punjab summers

Summer heat in Faisalabad and Lahore pushes many inverters into derating. We shade, relocate and clean SOFAR inverters.
