What you will see

Why it happens
DC cables and connectors warm up in normal use, and a damaged connector can overheat. Combustible material piled against equipment gives heat and sparks something to catch, blocks ventilation and hides damage from view.
What you can check yourself
- Keep the area under and around the array, inverters and cable routes clear.
- Include lint removal in routine cleaning.
- Make sure staff know where the AC isolation points are and who to call.

- Do not store anything against inverters, combiner boxes or cable trays.
- Do not let anyone cut, move or cover solar cables.
- Do not smoke on or near the rooftop array.
