What you will see

  • One inverter produces more during the morning and the other later in the day.
  • Daily energy totals differ even when the inverter ratings match.
  • A gap appears suddenly after both systems previously followed a similar pattern.
  • One inverter shows an input, grid or operating-status message.

Why it happens

Panel direction, tilt and shading affect solar yield. Canadian Solar’s installation guidance highlights orientation and partial shading, including dirt-related shading. Two arrays on different roof sections can therefore have different production patterns.

Compare the number and rated capacity of panels connected to each inverter as well. Matching inverter ratings alone do not establish matching solar arrays. Use the installation records to identify what each inverter actually serves.

String configuration or an input problem can also need investigation. Solis identifies panel mismatch and shading among the checks for certain underproduction symptoms. A sudden new difference deserves a different review from an established difference between dissimilar arrays.

Operating restrictions matter too. An export-limited system can restrict output, so a power reading should be assessed alongside its control status and available demand.

A sudden new gap between comparable arrays needs a review. A long-standing gap between different arrays may be normal.

What you can check yourself

  • Compare daily energy over the same complete days, as well as power at matching times.
  • Save both inverters’ status and alarm screens.
  • Record the panel count and panel model connected to each unit from your documents.
  • Note visible shading or dirt from ground level or another safely accessible location.
  • Describe whether the difference is longstanding, seasonal or a sudden change.
  • Check that the screenshots use the same units. Instantaneous power and accumulated energy answer different questions. Also note any period when one monitoring device was offline before interpreting missing data as lost generation.

What not to do

  • Do not swap PV connectors, combine strings, change export controls or climb onto the roof to compare inputs.
  • Do not use another inverter’s output as a guaranteed benchmark without checking its connected array and conditions.

When to call us

  • Arrange a review for a sudden sustained drop, a missing input reading, recurring alarms or an unexplained difference between otherwise comparable arrays. Time-matched records help determine which part of the system needs inspection.

Performance checks in Faisalabad and Lahore

Faisalabad and Lahore homes often split panels across roof sections or buildings. Send our team matching graphs and panel counts and we will find which part needs inspection.

Send us

Both inverter models, connected panel counts and models, matching production graphs, warning screenshots, known shading, and your city and area.
