Why are old or duplicate devices still visible in the solar app?

What you will see

• An old inverter remains offline after replacement.
• Two devices have similar names but different serial numbers.
• Production appears under more than one plant.
• A replacement is live while the older record retains historical data.

Why it happens

Monitoring systems distinguish plants, devices and their records. GoodWe’s portal guidance uses identifiers such as plant details and inverter serial numbers when reviewing information; a display name alone is insufficient.

Ask the service team to map each visible entry to the actual equipment. The review should identify whether an entry is historical, incorrectly associated or genuinely duplicated.

Also check how reports combine the records. Do not assume that a duplicated-looking entry necessarily doubles the generation total, or that removing it will preserve every historical report.

What you can check yourself

• Save screenshots showing names, serials and last-update times.
• Gather the original and replacement invoices or service records.
• Note the date each physical device was changed.
• Export available reports before any agreed account cleanup.
• Ask for the final record arrangement to be explained: which entry is current, where older history remains and which plant should be used for future monitoring.

What not to do

• Do not delete records merely because they are offline. Do not add the same logger repeatedly or rename entries in a way that conceals their identities. Avoid assuming that deleting an app entry is equivalent to electrically disconnecting equipment.
