Why it happens
K-Electric explains that its billing charge mode distinguishes actual readings from estimation and other billing categories. The labels and treatment should be checked with the electricity provider responsible for the account.
Ask for the reason, dates and calculation basis for the affected period. Provide relevant reading photographs and complaint records through the official channel if requested.
The solar record can help explain the property’s operating history, but first establish whether it measures generation, grid exchange or total consumption. Those quantities should not be substituted for one another.

What you can check yourself
- Read the billing-mode description and reading dates.
- Gather earlier and later bills for comparison.
- Preserve safely obtained meter photographs with dates.
- Check whether a meter fault or access problem was already reported.
- Ask how any later reconciliation will appear so that an adjustment is not mistaken for unexplained new consumption.
What not to do
- Do not assume the app total is the correct replacement for billed units. Do not alter meter access arrangements unsafely or open a sealed meter. Avoid assuming a complaint automatically suspends payment obligations.
When to call us
- Contact us when you need the solar system’s records explained for a billing enquiry. Requests to change utility readings or charges must go to the electricity provider.
