What you will see
- ID008 during every load-shedding hour
- Inverter restarts a few minutes after the grid returns
Why it happens
On-grid inverters must stop the moment the grid disappears. Only a hybrid with a battery and a backup (EPS) circuit, such as SOFAR HYD or ESI, can keep selected loads on.
IslandFault is a safety stop
- 01Grid goes off
- 02Inverter detects it
- 03Stops feeding (ID008)
- 04Grid returns
- 05Inverter checks and reconnects
Only a hybrid with a battery and backup circuit keeps loads on.
What you can check yourself
- Confirm the grid was off at the time
- Give the inverter a few minutes after the grid returns
- Read our article on on-grid inverters stopping during load-shedding
What not to do
- Do not bypass anything to make an on-grid inverter run during load-shedding
When to call us
- If ID008 appears while the grid is on, check AC wiring and the breaker
- Advise on a hybrid or battery upgrade if you need backup
Load-shedding hours
On-grid SOFAR systems across Faisalabad and Lahore log ID008 every outage. If you want backup, we can survey your system for a hybrid upgrade.
