Why it happens
When a feeder is switched back on, the voltage can overshoot before it settles. Every connected device sees that spike. Inverters have their own protection, but a voltage protector and surge protection on the grid side reduce the stress on the whole house.
What you can check yourself
- Note whether faults cluster right after power returns.
- Check whether your distribution board has a surge protector and whether its indicator shows it is healthy.
- Ask neighbours whether they see the same pattern.
What not to do
- Do not switch heavy loads back on the instant power returns. Give the grid a moment to settle.
- Do not open the distribution board yourself.
