Why it happens
An induction motor can draw several times its running current for a moment while it starts. If many start together, the combined surge can exceed what the inverter can supply, especially on a hybrid running from battery, or when the grid is weak.
Industrial systems need inverter headroom for these surges, or starters that soften them.
What you can check yourself
- Note which machine was starting and whether others started at the same time.
- Try staggering machine start-ups by a few seconds.
- Check whether trips happen on grid, on battery or both.
What not to do
- Do not keep resetting the breaker and restarting the machine.
- Do not change inverter overload settings.
