Why do solar, battery, grid and load figures not add up in the app?

What you will see

• Load apparently exceeding the displayed sources of power.
• Battery charging and grid arrows that seem inconsistent.
• A daily total compared with an instantaneous reading.
• Different values on the app and local equipment screen.

Why it happens

Solis explains that its cloud data can represent periodic snapshots, including moments when the system is responding to a changing load. An uploaded point should not automatically be treated as the average condition throughout the gap between uploads.

Also check whether the screen shows AC or DC power, which circuits the meter includes and whether losses fall inside the displayed measurement boundary. The installer should explain that boundary for your actual system.

A persistent mismatch still deserves investigation. Timing is a possible explanation, not permission to dismiss every discrepancy as normal.

• Separate instantaneous power from accumulated energy.
• Note whether the mismatch lasts or appears only briefly.
• Include the operating mode and any simultaneous warning. Existing wiring diagrams can help identify which loads the monitoring system covers.

What not to do

• Do not change sign conventions, meter settings or operating limits to make the arithmetic look right. Do not estimate a monthly financial loss by multiplying one anomalous power reading by every hour of the month.
