Solis vs GoodWe Hybrid Inverters Compared
Short answer
Solis and GoodWe are closely matched international hybrid inverter brands, and both suit Punjab homes and small businesses well. The practical difference is in their line-ups: Solis offers single-phase 48 V hybrids up to 10 kW, so it covers larger single-phase homes in one unit, while GoodWe's single-phase 48 V ES hybrids top out at 6 kW on the datasheet we checked and its 8-10 kW hybrids sold here are usually three-phase, high-voltage ET models. Choose by your connection (single or three-phase), the battery you want and the size you need, then compare the exact models. Both publish switchover to backup in under 10 ms on their current single-phase models.
For the full range and prices of each brand, see Solis inverters and GoodWe inverters. For size-by-size comparisons that include other brands, see our 6 kW, 8 kW, 10 kW and 12-20 kW guides. This page compares only the two brands, family by family.
The two families that matter
Both brands split their home hybrids into two kinds. Understanding this split answers most of the Solis vs GoodWe question.
| Family | Solis | GoodWe |
|---|---|---|
| Single-phase, low-voltage (48 V class) battery | S6-EH1P L-PLUS: 3 to 10 kW | ES series: 3 to 6 kW on the datasheet we checked |
| Three-phase, high-voltage battery | S6-EH3P H: 12, 15 and 20 kW, with smaller sizes in other S6 three-phase models | ET series: from about 5 kW up to 30 kW across ranges |
Low-voltage (48 V class) batteries are the common home battery. High-voltage batteries are stacked modules running at a few hundred volts and must be matched to the inverter. Read high-voltage vs low-voltage batteries if this is new to you.

Single-phase homes: Solis S6-EH1P vs GoodWe ES
Most Punjab houses up to about 10 marla have a single-phase connection. Here is how the two single-phase 48 V families compare on their published specifications:
| Point | Solis S6-EH1P L-PLUS | GoodWe ES (G2) |
|---|---|---|
| Sizes | 3, 3.6, 5, 6, 8 and 10 kW | 3 to 6 kW |
| Battery voltage | 40-60 V (48 V class) | 40-60 V (48 V nominal) |
| MPPTs | 2 | 2 on most models (1 on the smallest) |
| Switch to backup | Under 10 ms | Under 10 ms |
| Parallel units | Up to 6 | Parallel supported |
| Protection rating | IP66 | IP65 |
| Monitoring | SolisCloud | GoodWe app and portal (SEMS) |
| Battery types | Lithium and lead-acid listed | Lithium via BMS communication |
What this means for you:
- At 5-6 kW, the two are very similar on paper. Choose on battery pairing, price and stock.
- At 8-10 kW on single-phase, Solis has a model in this family and GoodWe's ES datasheet we checked does not. If your house is single-phase and you want one 8 or 10 kW unit, Solis is the simpler option, or you could run two smaller units in parallel. See running two inverters in parallel.
- Room to grow. Solis lists up to six units in parallel in this family, which helps if your load grows later.
On switchover, both claim under 10 ms, which is fast enough that most home electronics will not notice a load-shedding cut. Our guide to hybrid inverter transfer time explains what that figure means in practice.
Three-phase homes and small businesses: Solis S6-EH3P vs GoodWe ET
Larger houses, clinics, offices and shops often have a three-phase supply. Both brands offer three-phase high-voltage hybrids, which back up all three phases within their rating.
| Point | Solis S6-EH3P (12-20)K-H | GoodWe ET |
|---|---|---|
| Sizes | 12, 15, 20 kW | 8 and 10 kW models, plus a 15-30 kW range |
| Battery voltage | About 120-800 V | High-voltage |
| MPPTs | 4 | 2 on the 8 kW, 10 kW and 15-30 kW models |
| Strength | Four MPPTs suit roofs with several orientations or partial shade | Wide size range from 8 kW to 30 kW |
Two practical points:
- MPPT count matters on complex roofs. A house with panels on two or three roof sections facing different ways, or with a water tank shading one row, benefits from more independent inputs. Solis's four MPPTs in this range give more flexibility; GoodWe's two higher-current MPPTs need strings grouped differently.
- Size steps. If you need 8 or 10 kW on three-phase, GoodWe ET has models there. If you need 12 to 20 kW, both brands cover it.
For whether three-phase is right for you, see three-phase vs single-phase inverters.
Batteries: the pairing question
Both brands make or list compatible batteries, and each publishes which batteries its hybrids communicate with. We do not supply GoodWe's own batteries. We pair Solis and GoodWe hybrids with batteries from the brands we stock, and only where the inverter supports that combination.
- For a single-phase 48 V hybrid, the battery is a low-voltage lithium unit. Solis's L-PLUS family also lists lead-acid compatibility, which matters only if you are reusing old batteries; we generally advise lithium for new systems.
- For a three-phase high-voltage hybrid, the battery is a stacked high-voltage unit that must be on the inverter's compatibility list.
The battery is often the larger cost in a hybrid system. Compare complete quotes with the same usable kWh. See lithium battery price in Pakistan.
Monitoring and everyday use
Both brands use a Wi-Fi or network logger and a phone app: SolisCloud for Solis, and GoodWe's SEMS platform for GoodWe. Each shows generation, home use, battery level and grid import and export, and lets you see alarms. For most homeowners, either app is easy to use once set up. Our monitoring app guide explains how to read what you see. We set up monitoring at handover where the equipment supports it.

Warranty and genuine stock
Both brands' inverters carry a manufacturer's warranty per product. Match the model code on the quote to the nameplate, record the serial number with your invoice, and ask how the warranty is registered. On systems we install, our own engineers handle after-sales: we target sending service personnel within 48 hours of a registered complaint to begin diagnosis, and we give a 1-year service warranty under the applicable project terms and a 3-year structure warranty.
How Solar Works Pakistan chooses between them

Frequently asked questions
Is Solis or GoodWe better?
Neither is better in every case. They are closely matched on quality and features. Solis covers single-phase 48 V homes up to 10 kW and has four MPPTs on its 12-20 kW three-phase hybrids; GoodWe offers three-phase hybrids at 8-10 kW and a range that runs to 30 kW.
Does GoodWe make a single-phase 10 kW hybrid?
The GoodWe ES single-phase 48 V datasheet we checked covers 3 to 6 kW, and GoodWe's 8 and 10 kW hybrids sold here are usually three-phase ET models. Check the exact model code on any quote.
Which switches faster in load-shedding?
Both publish switchover under 10 ms on their current single-phase 48 V models. Check the figure for three-phase models on the datasheet. In practice, both are fast enough for most home electronics.
Can I use a 48 V battery with a GoodWe ET or Solis S6-EH3P?
No. These three-phase models need high-voltage batteries. 48 V batteries pair with the single-phase Solis S6-EH1P L-PLUS and GoodWe ES families.
Do you sell GoodWe batteries?
No. We pair GoodWe hybrids with compatible batteries from the brands we supply, only where GoodWe supports that combination, and confirm it in the quotation.
Can I run two Solis or GoodWe inverters together?
Both support parallel operation on certain models. Solis lists up to six single-phase L-PLUS units in parallel. Limits and conditions vary by model, so we confirm them at design stage.
Which app is easier, SolisCloud or GoodWe SEMS?
Both are straightforward once set up and show generation, use, battery level and alarms. We set up whichever your system uses and show you how to read it at handover.
