If you had 2 or 3 kW in mind, send your bill first; most houses with an AC need more. The solar system price guide, lithium battery prices and our solar calculator give a first estimate.

Hafizabad: rice, looms and the Chenab edge

Hafizabad district has two tehsils, Hafizabad and Pindi Bhattian, with the Chenab forming its northern boundary. Rice is the backbone of the local economy, both in the fields and in the mills, and the district is known for rice exports. Hafizabad city also has a sizeable power-loom and textile sector with close ties to Faisalabad.

Rice mills

Husking, whitening and polishing lines run heavy motors, often in long shifts after the harvest. Three points shape the design:

Our guide to solar for flour and rice mills explains each of these. Many mills also keep a generator; we do not sell generators, but we integrate existing sets into hybrid systems (solar and generator hybrid).

Power looms

Looms run long hours with steady motor load, which suits solar well in daylight. Shift work into the evening needs grid or battery support. Our solar for textile, dyeing and loom units guide covers loom sheds in detail, and most of it applies directly to Hafizabad.

Farms and tubewells

Pindi Bhattian and the rural parts of the district are farm country, with tubewells for rice and wheat. A tubewell needs a dedicated VFD design; see our solar tubewell guide.

Solar Works Pakistan designs and installs solar for tubewells and farm buildings in Hafizabad district.

Wazirabad: cutlery workshops and the GT Road

Wazirabad sits on the Chenab and the Grand Trunk Road, about 100 km north of Lahore. It became a district in its own right in 2023, having previously been a tehsil of Gujranwala. It is long known as the city of cutlery, with knife, scissor and utensil making done in many small and medium workshops.

A typical cutlery or metal-goods workshop runs:

Motor loads suit solar well in daytime. Heat treatment is different: an electric furnace draws a large, steady load, and whether solar can carry it depends on its size and running hours. Our guide Can solar run heavy industrial loads? explains the limits honestly. Two practical points for workshop rows:

  1. Metal dust and grinding sparks. Keep inverters and DC combiner boxes in a clean, separate space, not on the workshop wall beside the grinders.
  2. Shared buildings. Many workshops share a roof or a building with several meters. Each meter is its own net billing case, so we design per connection and make clear in the BOQ which load each system serves.

Moving heavy grinding and pressing into sunny hours often gives the biggest saving for the least cost; see solar load management. Most workshop roofs are tin or metal sheet; read solar on tin and metal sheet roofs before choosing fixings.

Solar Works Pakistan designs workshop and factory systems in-house, including structures, and has 50+ industrial clients. See our industrial and commercial solar page.

Homes in both towns

Many houses in Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian and Wazirabad are single-phase, and many families rely on UPS units for load-shedding. A hybrid solar system with a lithium battery charges from the sun and carries far more of the house; our solar vs UPS guide compares them honestly. Monsoon storms and lightning are a real risk on open plains and near the river, so earthing and surge protection are part of every design; see solar earthing and surge protection. In low-lying sites we keep inverters, batteries and boards well above floor level.

GEPCO and net billing

GEPCO serves Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Narowal, Hafizabad, Wazirabad and Mandi Bahauddin. It applies NEPRA's national rules, explained in our net metering and net billing guide:

Our green meter and application guide lists the documents and timelines. For the rest of the GEPCO area, see our Gujranwala page and our Gujrat, Jhelum and Mandi Bahauddin page.

Solar Works Pakistan prepares, submits and follows up your GEPCO net billing application.

How we serve Hafizabad and Wazirabad

Hafizabad is about 108 km by road from our Faisalabad head office. Wazirabad, on the GT Road, is closer to our Lahore branch. Engineering and design are done in-house, and installation is by our own teams.

  1. Send data on WhatsApp: twelve months of bills, roof photos and a load list. For mills and workshops, add motor ratings, furnace size and shift hours.
  2. Remote review of units, sanctioned load and phase, with an indicative size.
  3. Site survey, normally free.
  4. In-house design and a detailed BOQ with brand, model, quantity and warranty for every item.
  5. Installation by our own team, then testing, safe commissioning and handover.

Once a complaint is registered, we target sending service personnel within 48 hours to begin diagnosis; the final fix depends on the fault and spare parts. Small projects are normally finished in about one week, subject to payment, equipment availability and site readiness. Panels, inverters and batteries carry the manufacturer's warranty per product. Our structures carry a 3-year Solar Works Pakistan structure warranty, and our service warranty covers the first year under applicable project terms. See installation services.

Founded in 2021, Solar Works Pakistan has served 300+ customers, including 50+ industrial clients, with power-generation heritage going back to the 1980s through our founder, Akram Ullah Khan.

Frequently asked questions

What is the solar panel price in Hafizabad and Wazirabad?

The national market rate: WhatsApp for today's rate per watt for mainstream N-type panels, about WhatsApp for today's rate for a 615 W panel. WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 for today's figure.

Do you have an office in Hafizabad or Wazirabad?

No. We serve both districts from our Faisalabad head office and Lahore branch, with our own engineers and installers.

Which DISCO covers Hafizabad and Wazirabad?

GEPCO serves both. Wazirabad became a separate district in 2023 but is still in GEPCO's area; the NEPRA net billing rules are the same as everywhere else.

Can a rice mill run on solar?

Solar can carry a large share of a mill's daytime load, working with the grid, a generator or battery storage. Seasonal running and heavy motor starts need careful sizing, so we design from the mill's own load data.

Will solar run a cutlery workshop's grinders and buffing machines?

Usually, yes, in daylight hours, with inverters and protection sized for motor starts. Electric heat-treatment furnaces are a bigger load and need a case-by-case check.

Can I still get net metering from GEPCO?

Not as a new applicant. Applications from 9 February 2026 come under net billing, where exports earn less than imports cost. Existing agreements keep their terms until they expire.

What is the smallest system you install?

About 6 kW. Send your bill and we will tell you honestly what your load needs.
