Industrial solar in Sheikhupura

Sheikhupura sits on the M-2 motorway and the main roads to Lahore and Faisalabad, and it hosts a large number of factories along with the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park, a government-designated special economic zone of roughly 1,500 acres beside the motorway. Kasur, south of Lahore, is known for its tanneries and leather processing, alongside other small and medium industry.

Factory owners in both districts usually ask the same questions. Our answers, in short:

  1. Will solar cut my demand charges? Solar cuts the units you buy; it does not always cut the maximum demand on your bill, because a peak can occur on a cloudy moment or after sunset. Read what MDI on your bill means.
  2. Can I run solar with my generator? Yes, with the right controller so the two share load safely. We do not sell generators, but we integrate existing sets; see solar and generator hybrid systems.
  3. Is a battery worth it? For sites with evening shifts, demand peaks or sensitive processes, battery storage can make sense. Our BESS for factories guide shows how to assess it.
  4. What if I cannot export? Some sites choose, or are required, to limit export. A zero export device stops the inverter feeding the grid.
  5. Is my shed roof suitable? Most industrial sheds have metal sheet roofs on steel purlins. Fixing, purlin strength and leak sealing need an engineering check; see solar on tin and metal sheet roofs.

Notes for tanneries and wet-process plants

Leather processing uses water, chemicals and drums that run for long hours. For solar this means keeping inverters and DC equipment away from damp and corrosive air, in a dry, ventilated room, and choosing fixings and cable routes that resist corrosion. Effluent and chemical areas should not be used for cable runs.

Solar Works Pakistan delivers these projects with in-house engineering, AutoCAD design and structural design, and installs with its own teams. See our industrial and commercial solar page.

Smog, haze and dust

Like Lahore, Sheikhupura and Kasur see heavy smog and haze in late autumn and winter, and industrial dust settles on panels all year. Smog reduces output on bad days but does not stop it; dirty panels lose output every day until they are cleaned. Our guides on solar in fog and smog and cleaning solar panels explain what to expect and how to plan safe cleaning access on large roofs.

LESCO, AMI meters and net billing

Both districts are supplied by LESCO, which covers Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara and Nankana Sahib. LESCO applies NEPRA's national rules, summarised in our net metering and net billing guide:

LESCO has reported handling post-9 February applications through its Net Billing Portal. Our green meter and LESCO application guide lists the documents.

Solar Works Pakistan prepares, submits and follows up the LESCO net billing application on your behalf.

How a project works

Engineering and design are done in-house.

  1. Send data on WhatsApp: twelve months of bills (for factories, the MDI history too), roof or shed photos and a load list.
  2. Remote review of units, demand and sanctioned load.
  3. Site survey, normally free; for factories this includes a load study.
  4. In-house design and detailed BOQ with brand, model, quantity and warranty for every item.
  5. Installation by our own teams, then testing, safe commissioning and handover.

After a complaint is registered, we target sending service personnel within 48 hours to begin diagnosis. Small projects normally take about one week, subject to payment, equipment availability and site readiness; larger projects follow a project-specific schedule. Panels, inverters and batteries carry the manufacturer's warranty per product. Our structures carry a 3-year Solar Works Pakistan structure warranty, and our service warranty covers the first year under applicable project terms. See installation services.

Solar Works Pakistan was founded in 2021 and has served 300+ customers, including 50+ industrial clients.

Frequently asked questions

What is the solar panel price in Sheikhupura and Kasur?

Mainstream N-type panels are WhatsApp for today's rate per watt, about WhatsApp for today's rate for a 615 W panel, the same national rate as Lahore. WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 for today's rate.

Do you have an office in Sheikhupura or Kasur?

No. Our own engineers and installation teams cover all of Punjab, starting with a WhatsApp review of your bills.

Which DISCO covers Sheikhupura and Kasur?

LESCO, the same company that supplies Lahore, Okara and Nankana Sahib. Net billing applications go to LESCO.

Can a factory install more than 25 kW of solar?

Yes, up to its sanctioned load and the 1 MW cap. Above 25 kW, NEPRA concurrence and a one-time fee of Rs 1,000 per kW apply, and 250 kW and above needs a load flow study.

Will solar reduce my factory's MDI charges?

Not always. Solar reduces units bought, but your maximum demand may still occur when solar output is low. Battery storage or load management can help; we assess this from your bill history.

Does LESCO still fit green meters?

No. LESCO now fits AMI smart meters on solar connections. They record imports and exports and send readings automatically.
