Solar for Homes in Faisalabad: Canal Road, Madina Town, Eden Valley and Wapda City
Short answer
For homes in Faisalabad's residential areas, from Madina Town to the Canal Road schemes such as Eden Valley and Wapda City, the right solar system is usually a 6-15 kW hybrid sized to the house's daytime AC load, with a lithium battery for evenings and load-shedding. New connections come under FESCO's net billing rules, so the system should be designed for self-use rather than export. Check your society's rules and your meter's phase before you choose a size.
Solar Works Pakistan's head office is in Faisalabad, so these homes are close to our engineers and service team. WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 with your bills. For panel prices and our office details, see our main Faisalabad solar company page (اردو).

What differs between these neighbourhoods
Canal Road schemes: Wapda City, Eden Valley and others
Many of Faisalabad's newer housing schemes sit along Canal Road and its extension towards the motorway. Wapda City, for example, is a cooperative society developed by the WAPDA Employees Cooperative Housing Society and run by an elected committee, with plots from 5 marla to 1 kanal and larger. Eden Valley lies in the same belt.
What this means for solar:
- Society rules. Some societies set rules for rooftop structures, such as height, visibility from the street or approval before work. We design to whatever the society requires and can provide drawings for approval.
- Construction dust. Where neighbouring plots are still being built, cement and sand dust settles on panels quickly. Plan easy cleaning access from day one.
- New roofs, new wiring. Recently built houses usually have sound slabs and modern wiring, which makes installation simpler. Ask your builder for the roof's waterproofing details before the frame is fixed.
Our guide to solar for housing societies covers the society's own common loads, such as tube wells and the clubhouse.
Madina Town and older established areas
Madina Town is one of Faisalabad's established residential areas, with many houses that have been extended or rebuilt over the years. Here the checks are closer to those for older Lahore homes:
- Roof condition and waterproofing before any frame goes up. See roof load and roof waterproofing with solar.
- Single-phase meters on older connections.
- More than one meter in joint-family houses. A system reduces only the bill of the meter it is connected to. See solar for houses with multiple meters.
Our guide to solar for older homes in Johar Town, Model Town and Gulberg covers these checks in more depth; the same approach applies in Faisalabad.
FESCO and net billing for Faisalabad homes
All four areas are supplied by FESCO, the distribution company for Faisalabad and seven other districts. The rules are NEPRA's, summarised from our net metering and net billing guide:
- Net billing since 9 February 2026. Imports are billed at your tariff; exports are credited at the national average energy purchase price, reported at about Rs 10-11 per unit when the rules were notified.
- Three-phase only for export. Net billing is available to three-phase 400 V or 11 kV consumers, with solar capacity up to your sanctioned load.
- Existing agreements keep their terms until they expire. Adding capacity can move you to net billing.
- Approval. Systems up to 25 kW are approved by FESCO without a NEPRA licence fee.
Our green meter and FESCO/LESCO guide lists the documents and steps.
If your house is single-phase
You have two routes. Convert to three-phase and raise your sanctioned load if you want to export; see single-phase to three-phase. Or install a hybrid system for self-use, with export limited by a zero-export device.
Solar Works Pakistan prepares, submits and follows up your FESCO net billing application.
Designing for a Faisalabad home
Self-use first
Because exported units earn far less than imported units cost, the aim is to use as much solar as possible in the house. In practice:
- Run ACs, the water motor and the washing machine in solar hours where you can. See running a home water pump on solar.
- Size the panels to your real daytime load, not to the largest system the roof can hold. See sizing under net billing.
- Add a lithium battery for evening AC and fans if the family is home after sunset. Our hybrid vs on-grid vs off-grid guide explains the choice.
Summer heat
Faisalabad summers push roof temperatures very high. Panels lose some output as they heat up, and inverters derate when hot. We leave an air gap under the panels, keep the inverter in shade with free airflow, and size cables for real roof temperatures. See solar panels in Punjab summer heat.
Dust and cleaning
Between road dust, construction dust and Faisalabad's industrial haze, panels need regular cleaning in dry months. A tap on the roof and a clear walkway make this easy and safe. See the solar panel cleaning guide.
EV charger
If you drive an electric car or plan to, add the charger to the design now. A car charging in solar hours can use midday solar that would otherwise be exported cheaply. Solar Works Pakistan installs EV chargers; see EV charger installation.
The advantage of being near our head office
Our head office is at Main Boulevard, Sargodha Rd, Block F FDA City, Faisalabad, where our engineering, design and installation teams are based. For homes in the city, that means:
- Site surveys that are easy to arrange; they are normally free. See what happens during a site survey.
- Design in-house in AutoCAD, including the structure.
- Installation by our own team, not outside crews.
- Service from the same city. After a complaint is registered, we target sending service personnel within 48 hours to begin diagnosis; the time to a final fix depends on the fault and parts.
Small projects are normally completed in about one week, subject to payment, equipment availability and site readiness. Every quotation is a detailed BOQ with brand, model, quantity and warranty for each item. Panels, inverters and batteries carry the manufacturer's warranty per product. Our structures carry a 3-year Solar Works Pakistan structure warranty, and our service warranty covers the first year under applicable project terms. See our installation services.
Solar Works Pakistan was founded in 2021 and has served 300+ customers, including 50+ industrial clients, with power-generation heritage going back to the 1980s through our founder, Akram Ullah Khan.

Frequently asked questions
What size solar system does a 10 marla house in Faisalabad need?
Many 10 marla houses need about 8-10 kW, but the right size depends on your summer units, daytime AC use and backup needs. We size from 12 months of bills.
Do I need my society's permission to install solar in Wapda City or Eden Valley?
Some societies set rules or ask for approval before rooftop structures are installed. Check with your society's management before work starts; we can provide drawings for any approval.
Can I get net metering from FESCO for my house?
Not as a new applicant. Applications from 9 February 2026 come under net billing, where exports are credited at a lower rate than imports cost. Existing agreements keep their terms until they expire.
My house in Madina Town is single-phase. What are my options?
You can install a hybrid system for self-use with export limited, or convert to three-phase and raise your sanctioned load if you want to export under net billing.
Is a battery worth it for a Faisalabad home?
Often yes, if the family uses ACs and fans after sunset or faces load-shedding. A battery moves daytime solar into the evening, where it is worth your full tariff instead of the lower export rate.
How quickly can you start in Faisalabad?
Our head office is in Faisalabad, so surveys are easy to arrange. Small projects are normally completed in about one week, subject to payment, stock and site readiness.
