Solar in Lodhran and Kahror Pakka: Panel Prices and Installation
Short answer
The solar panel price in Lodhran today is WhatsApp for today's rate per watt for mainstream N-type panels, about WhatsApp for today's rate for a 615 W panel, the same national market rate you would pay in Multan. Lodhran district, including Kahror Pakka and Dunyapur, is supplied by MEPCO, and new solar connections there come under NEPRA's net billing rules. Solar Works Pakistan serves Lodhran from its Faisalabad head office with its own Punjab teams; we have no office in the district. WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 for today's rate.
This page covers prices, the connection questions that matter most in a largely rural district, solar for cotton ginning and other local loads, and how a Lodhran project runs.

About Lodhran district
Lodhran district lies in Multan division on the northern bank of the Sutlej, with Multan to the west, Bahawalpur across the river to the south, and Khanewal and Vehari to the north and east. It has three tehsils: Lodhran, Kahror Pakka and Dunyapur. It was separated from Multan district in 1991.
Two facts shape solar here:
- Most people live outside the towns. The 2023 census counted about 1.93 million people in the district, of whom only about 325,000 live in urban areas. Many homes are in villages on long rural feeders.
- Cotton is the main crop. The district is known as a cotton-growing area, so ginning and crop-season loads matter for commercial customers.
If you are closer to Multan or Bahawalpur, our Multan and Bahawalpur pages cover those cities.
The connection question: single-phase or three-phase?
This is the first thing we check for any Lodhran home, because it decides which kind of system makes sense.
NEPRA's net billing rules make export available to three-phase 400 V or 11 kV consumers, with solar capacity limited to your sanctioned load. Many village and town homes are on single-phase connections with modest sanctioned loads. That leaves three routes:
| Your situation | What usually makes sense |
|---|---|
| Three-phase connection, sanctioned load large enough | Grid-tied or hybrid system with a net billing application to MEPCO |
| Single-phase, want to export | Apply to convert to three-phase and raise the sanctioned load first. See single-phase to three-phase. |
| Single-phase, no plan to export | Self-use hybrid system with export limited by a zero-export device |
Load-shedding on rural feeders
Homes on rural feeders often see longer outages than city feeders. An on-grid inverter shuts down when the grid goes off, by design, so an on-grid system gives no power during load-shedding. If outages matter to you, a hybrid system with a lithium battery is the better fit. Our hybrid vs on-grid vs off-grid guide explains the choice.
Designing for Lodhran's heat and dust
Lodhran's summers are long and very hot, and the dry months bring dust from open fields and unpaved roads. Both cost output if the design ignores them.
- Choose panels with a good temperature coefficient and leave an air gap under them. Hot panels produce less than their rated wattage. Our guide to solar panels in Punjab summer heat explains why.
- Keep the inverter in shade with free airflow. An inverter in afternoon sun derates or trips.
- Plan cleaning access. A water point on the roof and a walkway let panels be cleaned without anyone stepping on them. Dust settles faster near cotton fields at picking time and near ginning factories. See the solar panel cleaning guide.
- Check your water. Hard bore water leaves marks on glass; use the cleanest water available and a soft brush.
Our structures are designed in-house and carry a 3-year Solar Works Pakistan structure warranty.
Solar for cotton ginning and other local businesses
Cotton ginning. Gins run hard in the picking season and slow down for the rest of the year. Solar can carry a large share of the daytime season load, but the design must answer three questions: how motor starting surges are handled, how lint is kept away from panels and inverters (lint near electrical equipment is a fire risk), and what happens to surplus generation in the off-season under net billing. Our guide to solar for cotton ginning factories covers these in detail.
Flour mills and chakkis. Steady daytime milling suits solar well. See solar for flour and rice mills.
Dairy and livestock. Milk chillers, fans and water pumps on dairy farms are largely daytime loads. See solar for dairy farms.
Sites with generators. Many Lodhran businesses run a diesel generator through outages. A hybrid design lets solar share the load safely with the generator; see solar and generator hybrid systems. We do not sell generators, but we integrate existing sets.
Larger sites are handled through our industrial and commercial solar service. We do not publish client names.
Tubewells
Farmers across Kahror Pakka and Dunyapur ask about solar tubewells. Our solar tubewell and VFD guide explains sizing by horsepower and bore depth.
Solar Works Pakistan designs and installs solar for tubewells and farm buildings in Lodhran district.
MEPCO and net billing in Lodhran
Lodhran is one of the thirteen south Punjab districts served by MEPCO. MEPCO applies NEPRA's national rules, summarised from our net metering and net billing guide:
- Net billing for new connections since 9 February 2026. Imports are billed at your tariff; exports are credited at the national average energy purchase price, reported at about Rs 10-11 per unit when the rules were notified.
- Existing net metering agreements keep their terms until they expire. Adding capacity can move you to net billing.
- Approval. Systems up to 25 kW are approved by MEPCO with no NEPRA licence fee; larger systems pay NEPRA a one-time Rs 1,000 per kW. See the 25 kW rule.
- Transformer limit. New applications are refused once solar on a transformer reaches 80% of its rating. On village transformers with several solar homes already connected, this can be the deciding factor.
Our green meter and application guide lists the usual documents.
Because exported units earn much less than imported units cost, we size Lodhran systems so that most of the solar is used on site: ACs, fans, pumps and chillers during the day.
Solar Works Pakistan prepares, submits and follows up your MEPCO net billing application.
How we serve Lodhran without a local office
- WhatsApp us your bills. Twelve months of bills, a photo of your meter and roof, and the loads you want to run. For businesses, add motor ratings, season dates and generator size.
- Remote review. We check units, sanctioned load and single- or three-phase supply, and give an indicative size.
- Site survey, normally free, to check the roof, shading, structure, cable routes and cleaning access.
- In-house design and a detailed BOQ naming brand, model, quantity and warranty for every item.
- Installation by our own team, then testing, safe commissioning and handover, including the monitoring app.
Small projects are normally finished in about one week, subject to payment, equipment availability and site readiness. After a complaint is registered, we target sending service personnel within 48 hours to begin diagnosis; distance and spare parts can affect the time to a final fix. Panels, inverters and batteries carry the manufacturer's warranty per product, and our service warranty covers the first year under applicable project terms. See our installation services.
Solar Works Pakistan was founded in 2021 and has served 300+ customers, including 50+ industrial clients, with power-generation heritage going back to the 1980s through our founder, Akram Ullah Khan.

Frequently asked questions
What is the solar panel price in Lodhran today?
Mainstream N-type panels are WhatsApp for today's rate per watt, about WhatsApp for today's rate for a 615 W panel. Panel prices follow the national market; WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 for today's rate on a specific brand and wattage.
Do you have an office in Lodhran?
No. Our offices are in Faisalabad and Lahore. We serve Lodhran, Kahror Pakka and Dunyapur from our Faisalabad head office with our own engineers and installers.
Which electricity company covers Lodhran?
MEPCO, which serves thirteen districts of south Punjab, including Lodhran, Multan, Bahawalpur and Vehari.
My house has a single-phase meter. Can I still go solar?
Yes. You can install a hybrid system for your own use with export limited. If you want to export under net billing, you will usually need to convert to three-phase and have enough sanctioned load first.
Will solar work during load-shedding in my village?
Only if the system has a battery. An on-grid inverter switches off when the grid goes off, for safety. A hybrid system with a lithium battery keeps your essential loads running.
Can a cotton ginning factory in Lodhran run on solar?
Solar can carry a large share of the daytime load in the ginning season. Motor surges, lint and fire safety, and off-season surplus all need careful design, so we size each site from its own load data.
How long does installation take?
Small projects are normally finished in about one week, subject to payment, stock and site readiness. Larger projects follow a schedule agreed in the quotation.
