Solar in Vehari and Burewala: Prices and Installation
Short answer
Solar in Vehari and Burewala costs the national rate, today WhatsApp for today's rate per watt for mainstream N-type panels (about WhatsApp for today's rate for a 615 W panel). Vehari district, including Burewala and Mailsi, is supplied by MEPCO, and the design has to allow for some of Punjab's hottest summers. Solar Works Pakistan serves the district from its Faisalabad head office with its own teams; we have no office in Vehari or Burewala. WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 for today's rate.
This page covers prices, MEPCO's rules, and solar for the ginning factories, feed and flour mills, farms and homes of Vehari, Burewala and Mailsi.

Prices follow the national market. Our solar panel price in Pakistan page lists every brand and wattage. Whoever you buy from, insist on a full model number and check the serials with our guide to checking genuine solar panels. In a hot district, the temperature coefficient on the datasheet matters as much as the wattage on the label.

Our projects start at about 6 kW and go up to megawatt scale. Travel and transport from Faisalabad appear as a separate line in the quotation. If you had 2 or 3 kW in mind, send your bill first; summer AC load here usually needs more. Use the solar system price guide, lithium battery prices and our solar calculator for a first estimate.
The district in brief
Vehari district sits on the right bank of the Sutlej, which forms its southern edge, between Pakpattan to the east, Khanewal and Lodhran to the west and Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur across the river. Its tehsils include Vehari, Burewala and Mailsi, each with over a million people, and Burewala city is one of the larger cities in Punjab. Farming here grew around the canal system, and like much of south Punjab the district is part of the cotton belt, where ginning factories are a familiar sight. The crop mix is changing: maize acreage roughly doubled between 2015-16 and 2019-20, alongside a reported shift from cotton towards maize and livestock.
Cotton ginning and agri-processing
Ginning factories are the classic large load in Vehari and Burewala. Three things set them apart:
- Seasonal running. Gins run hard for a few months after the cotton harvest and lightly or not at all for the rest of the year. A plant sized to the season peak produces a large surplus off-season, and under net billing exported units earn far less than imported units cost. We size to the year-round load, then look at how the season is covered: grid, generator, or a phased plant.
- Lint and fire risk. Cotton lint is flammable and settles everywhere. Cable routes, DC isolators and inverter rooms have to be kept clear of lint build-up, with the right protection and housekeeping.
- Motor starts. Gin stands, pressing and conveying motors pull high starting current; inverter and protection sizing must allow for it.
Our dedicated guide to solar for cotton ginning factories goes into each point. As cotton shares space with maize and livestock, feed mills and flour units are also common; see solar for flour and rice mills. Most of these sites already have a generator. We do not sell generators, but we integrate existing sets into hybrid systems (solar and generator hybrid). Our industrial and commercial solar page explains how we deliver larger plants; we have 50+ industrial clients.
Produce and dairy also bring cold rooms and milk chillers, which run through the night; see solar for cold storage and solar for dairy farms. Tubewells need a dedicated VFD design (solar tubewell guide).
Solar Works Pakistan designs and installs solar for tubewells, dairy sheds and farm buildings in Vehari district.
Designing for Vehari's heat and dust
South Punjab summers are long and very hot. That changes the design more than people expect:
- Hot panels make less power. Output falls as cell temperature rises. Panels with a better temperature coefficient, raised structures with airflow underneath, and realistic summer yield estimates all matter. Our guide to solar panels in Punjab summer heat explains the numbers.
- Inverters need shade and air. An inverter in direct sun on a roof or a west-facing wall will derate on the hottest afternoons. We place inverters and batteries in shaded, ventilated spaces.
- Dust from fields and tracks. Panels lose output when dust builds up between rains. Plan a cleaning routine; see solar panel cleaning.
- AC load drives the size. For most homes here, summer cooling is the biggest load. Our guide on solar for ACs shows how to size for one, two or more units.
For homes on long outages, a hybrid system with a lithium battery does far more than a UPS on tubular batteries; see our solar vs UPS guide.
MEPCO and net billing in Vehari district
Vehari is one of the 13 south Punjab districts supplied by MEPCO, and Burewala has its own MEPCO operations division. NEPRA's national rules apply, as set out in our net metering and net billing guide:
- Net billing for new connections since 9 February 2026: imports billed at your tariff, exports credited at the national average energy purchase price, reported at about Rs 10-11 per unit when the rules were notified.
- Existing net metering agreements keep their terms until expiry; changing capacity can move you to net billing.
- Three-phase 400 V or 11 kV consumers, with solar capacity up to the sanctioned load. A single-phase house that wants to export usually needs a three-phase connection first (single-phase to three-phase).
- Up to 25 kW, MEPCO approves with no NEPRA fee. Above 25 kW, NEPRA concurrence and a one-time Rs 1,000 per kW apply (the 25 kW rule).
- Transformer limit: no new applications once connected solar on a transformer reaches 80% of its rating.
Our green meter and application guide lists the documents and timelines.
Solar Works Pakistan prepares, submits and follows up your MEPCO net billing application.

How we serve Vehari, Burewala and Mailsi
Engineering and design are done in-house at our Faisalabad head office, and installation is by our own teams, who travel to the site.
- Send data on WhatsApp: twelve months of bills, roof or shed photos and a load list. For gins and mills, add motor ratings, generator size and season dates.
- Remote review of units, sanctioned load and phase, with an indicative size.
- Site survey, normally free.
- In-house design and a detailed BOQ with brand, model, quantity and warranty for every item.
- Installation by our own team, then testing, safe commissioning and handover.
Once a complaint is registered, we target sending service personnel within 48 hours to begin diagnosis; distance and spare parts can affect the time to a final fix. Small projects are normally finished in about one week, subject to payment, equipment availability and site readiness; larger projects follow a project-specific schedule. Panels, inverters and batteries carry the manufacturer's warranty per product. Our structures carry a 3-year Solar Works Pakistan structure warranty, and our service warranty covers the first year under applicable project terms. See installation services.
Solar Works Pakistan was founded in 2021 and has served 300+ customers, including 50+ industrial clients, with power-generation heritage going back to the 1980s through our founder, Akram Ullah Khan.

Frequently asked questions
What is the solar panel price in Vehari and Burewala?
The national market rate: WhatsApp for today's rate per watt for mainstream N-type panels, about WhatsApp for today's rate for a 615 W panel. WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 for today's figure.
Do you have an office in Vehari or Burewala?
No. We serve the district from our Faisalabad head office, with our own engineers and installers. Our only other office is in Lahore.
Which DISCO covers Vehari, Burewala and Mailsi?
MEPCO. Vehari district is one of the south Punjab districts MEPCO serves, and Burewala has its own MEPCO operations division.
Can a cotton ginning factory run on solar?
Solar can carry a large share of a gin's daytime load during the season, working with the grid or a generator. Because ginning is seasonal, we size to the year-round load and plan the season separately, so the plant does not sit half-idle for months.
Does the summer heat in Vehari reduce solar output?
Yes. Hot panels produce less than their label rating. Good panel choice, airflow under the panels, shaded inverters and honest yield estimates keep the loss in check.
Can I still get net metering from MEPCO?
Not as a new applicant. Applications from 9 February 2026 come under net billing. Existing agreements keep their terms until they expire.
What is the smallest system you install?
About 6 kW. Send your bill and we will tell you honestly what size your load needs.
