Solar in Kamoke and Muridke: Panel Prices, Rice Mills and Two DISCOs

Short answer

Solar in Kamoke and Muridke costs the national market rate: today WhatsApp for today's rate per watt for mainstream N-type panels, about WhatsApp for today's rate for a 585 W solar plate. The one thing that differs between the two towns is the electricity company: Kamoke is in Gujranwala district, which GEPCO supplies, while Muridke is in Sheikhupura district, which LESCO supplies. Solar Works Pakistan serves both towns from its Lahore branch and Faisalabad head office, with its own teams. We have no office in Kamoke or Muridke. WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 for today's rate.

Two towns on the GT Road, one rice belt

Muridke and Kamoke sit one after the other on the Grand Trunk Road north of Lahore. Muridke is about 30 to 37 km from Lahore and is the headquarters of its own tehsil in Sheikhupura district, with about 254,000 people at the 2023 census. Kamoke lies further up the road, about 44 km from Lahore and about 21 to 24 km short of Gujranwala, and is a tehsil headquarters in Gujranwala district with about 292,000 people in the city.

Both towns are surrounded by farmland and canals, and both are part of the paddy country between Lahore and Gujranwala. Kamoke is best known for its basmati rice market, often described as one of the largest rice markets in the subcontinent. That shapes the solar work here: rice mills and grain businesses, roadside commercial buildings along the GT Road, and a fast-growing number of houses.

This boundary matters only for paperwork. The NEPRA rules are the same everywhere, but your application goes to the company that bills you, and the forms, offices and meter practice can differ.

If you own premises in both towns, for example a mill near Kamoke and a house in Muridke, treat them as two separate cases with two DISCOs.

Rice mills and grain businesses

Rice mills along this stretch of the GT Road run husking, whitening, polishing, grading and conveying lines, all driven by motors. Our guide to solar for flour and rice mills covers motor starting current, VFDs and seasonal running in detail, and the Nankana Sahib page applies the same thinking to another rice district. Here is what we look at first on a mill in Kamoke or Muridke:

  1. The whole year, not the harvest. Mills are busiest after the kharif harvest. Under net billing, surplus exported in quiet months earns far less than grid units cost, so we size from twelve months of bills and size for the load the mill uses most of the year. See sizing under net billing.
  2. Demand charges. Big motors starting together push up maximum demand. Solar cuts the units you buy, but it does not always cut MDI, because a peak can come on a cloudy morning or after sunset. Read what MDI means on your bill.
  3. Generators. Many mills keep a diesel set for outages. Solar can share the load with it through the right controller. We integrate existing generators but do not sell them; see solar and generator hybrid systems.
  4. Warehouse and shed roofs. Paddy and rice godowns often have large metal-sheet roofs, which suit solar well but need purlin checks and proper fixings. See solar on tin and metal sheet roofs.
  5. Husk, bran and fire. Husk dust is combustible and coats everything. Inverters and combiner boxes belong in a clean, closed room away from husk storage, and panels need a cleaning routine. Our solar fire safety guide explains the precautions.

Industrial projects run through our industrial and commercial solar service, with in-house load analysis, AutoCAD design and our own installation teams. We have 50+ industrial clients and do not publish client names.

Tubewells around both towns

Paddy needs a lot of water, and many farms around Kamoke and Muridke pump from tubewells. Our solar tubewell and VFD guide explains sizing by horsepower and bore depth.

Solar Works Pakistan designs and installs solar for tubewells and farm buildings around Kamoke and Muridke.

GT Road businesses

The road through both towns is lined with shops, showrooms, petrol pumps, marriage halls and restaurants. These sites share a few traits: daytime trade, roofs or canopies facing the road, and heavy cooling loads in summer.

Homes in Kamoke and Muridke

New housing schemes have spread along the GT Road and the roads off it, and most family homes here run fans, a water motor and one or more ACs in summer. Three local points:

How we serve Kamoke and Muridke

Both towns are within easy reach of our Lahore branch, and our engineers and installers travel to site. Neighbouring areas have their own pages: Gujranwala, Sheikhupura and Kasur and Hafizabad and Wazirabad. Every area we cover is listed on our service areas page.

  1. Send your bills on WhatsApp: twelve months, roof photos and a load list. Mill owners should add motor ratings, season dates and generator details.
  2. Remote review of units, sanctioned load, phase and DISCO, with an indicative size.
  3. Site survey, normally free.
  4. In-house design and a detailed BOQ with brand, model, quantity and warranty for every item.
  5. Installation by our own team, then testing, safe commissioning and handover.

Small projects are normally finished in about one week, subject to payment, equipment availability and site readiness; larger projects follow a project-specific schedule. After a complaint is registered, we target sending service personnel within 48 hours to begin diagnosis; the final fix depends on the fault and parts. Panels, inverters and batteries carry the manufacturer's warranty per product. Our structures carry a 3-year Solar Works Pakistan structure warranty, and our service warranty covers the first year under applicable project terms. See installation services.

Solar Works Pakistan was founded in 2021 and has served 300+ customers, including 50+ industrial clients, with power-generation heritage going back to the 1980s through our founder, Akram Ullah Khan.

Frequently asked questions

What is the solar panel price in Kamoke and Muridke?

The national market rate: WhatsApp for today's rate per watt for mainstream N-type panels, about WhatsApp for today's rate for a 615 W panel. WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 for today's figure.

Which DISCO supplies Kamoke and which supplies Muridke?

Kamoke is in Gujranwala district, which GEPCO supplies. Muridke is in Sheikhupura district, which LESCO supplies. Check the company name on your own bill, because that is where your net billing application goes.

Do you have an office in Kamoke or Muridke?

No. We serve both towns from our Lahore branch and Faisalabad head office, with our own engineers and installers.

Can solar run a rice mill near Kamoke?

Solar can carry much of a mill's daytime load alongside the grid, a generator or a battery. Seasonal running, motor starts and husk dust all need careful design, so we size from the mill's own bills and load data.

My house in Muridke is single-phase. Can I still install solar?

Yes. A hybrid system for self-use works on single-phase. To export under net billing you usually need a three-phase connection and enough sanctioned load.

Can I still get net metering from GEPCO or LESCO?

Not as a new applicant. Applications from 9 February 2026 come under net billing. Existing agreements keep their terms until they expire.

What is the smallest system you install?

About 6 kW. Send your bill and we will tell you honestly what your home or business needs.
