Solar in Rajanpur: Prices, Extreme Heat and Flood-Safe Design
Short answer
Solar in Rajanpur costs the national market rate: today WhatsApp for today's rate per watt for mainstream N-type panels, about WhatsApp for today's rate for a 585 W solar plate. Rajanpur district, including Jampur and Rojhan, is supplied by MEPCO. It is one of the hottest parts of Punjab, and it floods from two directions: hill torrents from the Sulaiman range in the west and the Indus in the east. Solar Works Pakistan serves Rajanpur from its Faisalabad head office with its own teams; we have no office in the district. WhatsApp 0336 666 4321 for today's rate.
Our Muzaffargarh and Dera Ghazi Khan page covers the districts to the north. This page is about Rajanpur's own conditions: where you build decides how we design.

Our projects start at about 6 kW, and with Rajanpur's cooling load most homes need at least that; see solar for AC. Also see the solar system price guide, lithium battery prices and the solar calculator.
Rajanpur's geography shapes the design
Rajanpur sits on the west bank of the Indus at the southern tip of Punjab. It borders Dera Ghazi Khan to the north, Balochistan's Dera Bugti district to the west, Sindh's Kashmore district to the south, and Muzaffargarh and Rahim Yar Khan across the river. Its tehsils are Rajanpur, Jampur and Rojhan. Near Mithankot, the five rivers of Punjab meet the Indus.
The district falls into three broad zones, and each needs a different approach:
| Zone | Where | Main risk | What we do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pachadh (west) | Foothills below the Sulaiman range | Flash floods from hill torrents | Survey water paths; raise equipment; anchor structures firmly |
| Central plain | Rajanpur city, Jampur, the main road towns | Heat and dust | Heat-aware panel choice, air gap, cool inverter location |
| Katcha (east) | Indus river belt | Riverine flooding in the monsoon | Equipment above the known flood level; elevated structures |
The district administration says the Katcha and Pachadh zones cover about 80% of the district and hold about 60% of its people, and that floods now come almost every year with less predictable severity.
Designing for hill torrents and Indus floods
The district's flood page describes hill torrents as the more serious danger for most communities. They come down from the Sulaiman range, usually in July and August and sometimes in February or March. In 2022, peak flows of about 109,000 cusecs were recorded at the Kaha torrent and about 76,000 at Chachar, while the Indus at Kot Mithan peaked at about 720,000 cusecs.
For a solar system, flood design comes down to a few rules:
- Know the water line. At the survey we ask about past flood levels and look at how water moves across the site before choosing where anything goes.
- Mount the inverter, battery and distribution board above it. Water reaching a live inverter or a lithium battery is a safety risk and usually ends the equipment.
- Use elevated structures for ground arrays so panels and cable joints stay clear of standing water. Our guide to L2, L3 and elevated structures compares the options.
- Protect cable routes in sealed conduit, with no joints at ground level.
- Learn to isolate. At handover we show you how to switch the system off safely before water rises.
Our structures are designed in-house, fixed by our own team and carry a 3-year Solar Works Pakistan structure warranty. Storm and lightning protection is covered in wind, storms and lightning safety.
Designing for extreme heat
The Punjab government's district investment study describes Rajanpur as extremely hot in summer and very cold in winter, which it links to the nearby Sulaiman range. A Pakistan Meteorological Department heatwave forecast reported in June 2026 put highs of 44-48°C across a group of districts that included Rajanpur.
- Panel choice: a lower temperature coefficient keeps more output on hot afternoons; N-type panels generally do better than older P-type panels. See solar panels in Punjab summer heat.
- Air gap: raised structures let heat escape from under the panels.
- Inverter and battery placement: shaded, ventilated and away from the afternoon sun. See inverter overheating and where to install your inverter and battery.
- Cold winter mornings: panel voltage rises in the cold, so string lengths are set for the coldest day as well as the hottest.
- Dust: rain is negligible outside the monsoon, so panels need regular cleaning; see our solar panel cleaning guide.
On-grid, hybrid or off-grid?
How reliable your grid supply is decides the choice:
- On-grid suits sites with steady grid supply that mainly want to cut daytime units.
- Hybrid with a lithium battery suits most homes here: solar runs the day, the battery carries the evening and outages.
- Off-grid suits only sites with no practical grid connection, and needs careful battery sizing.
Our guide to hybrid vs on-grid vs off-grid explains the trade-offs.
Solar for ginning units and mills
The Punjab government's district investment study lists about 102 larger units, led by 60 cotton ginning and pressing units, 33 rice mills, 8 flour mills and a sugar mill. Cotton and sugarcane are the main crops, with mango and citrus orchards.
- Ginning runs hard after the cotton harvest. Motor starts, lint fire risk and off-season surplus all need careful design; see solar for cotton ginning factories.
- Rice and flour mills suit daytime solar; see solar for flour and rice mills.
- Generators are common at these sites. We do not sell generators, but we integrate existing sets; see solar and generator hybrid systems.
These projects run through our industrial and commercial solar service. We do not publish client names.
Farm owners also ask about tubewells; our solar tubewell and VFD guide explains sizing by horsepower and bore depth.
Solar Works Pakistan designs and installs solar for tubewells and farm buildings in Rajanpur district.

How we serve Rajanpur from Faisalabad
Rajanpur is about 371 km in a straight line from our Faisalabad head office, so we plan visits carefully. Our service area is Punjab; for sites across the border in Sindh or Balochistan we are not the right company. Rahim Yar Khan lies across the Indus, and every city we cover is on our service areas page.
- Send your bills on WhatsApp: twelve months of bills, roof and site photos, past flood levels and the loads you want to run.
- Remote review of units, sanctioned load and connection type, with an indicative size and an honest view of whether the project suits a visit from Faisalabad.
- Site survey, normally free, scheduled for flood risk, roof, structure and cable routes.
- In-house design and a detailed BOQ with brand, model, quantity and warranty for every item.
- Installation by our own team, then testing, safe commissioning and handover, including the monitoring app.
At this distance, remote monitoring matters. Current systems are designed with monitoring, so our engineers can often see a fault before travelling; see solar monitoring apps. After a complaint is registered, we target sending service personnel within 48 hours to begin diagnosis; distance and spare parts can affect the time to a final fix. Small projects are normally finished in about one week, subject to payment, equipment availability and site readiness. Panels, inverters and batteries carry the manufacturer's warranty per product, and our service warranty covers the first year under applicable project terms. See installation services.
Solar Works Pakistan was founded in 2021 and has served 300+ customers, including 50+ industrial clients. Our CEO, Akram Ullah Khan, brings power-generation experience going back to the 1980s.
